I wish nothing but the best for the young man.
6'4"
240 lbs.
4.84 (best 40yd)
4.53 shuttle
29" verticle
His basic numbers and first step are pedestrian at best. He'll have to live in the weight room and do power cleans until the cows come home if he wants to put some thump in his ass & develop into an impact player at DE. He seems like a great kid who may need some time to develop, it will be interesting to see who offers him after this season.
Invoking J.J. Watt as a comparison is a little over the top for right now.
J.J. Watt Combine:
290lbs
40 yd: Low 4.71 High 4.92
Shuttle: 4.21
Verticle: 37"

Look we all agree this is premature but to fair shouldn't you use Watt's numbers from when he was a boy (before his senior year of high school) and not after he completed his college career? All your numbers tell us is what the ceiling may be for Wallace or someone who really does have Watt type talent when they're 17.

How about this for a more legitimate reason not to go overboard on Wallace. Isn't he playing in an independent school association league? How many 160 pound linemen will he face on the other side of the ball? This is like thinking what one of the Swillings would do if Bro Martin played La. School for the Deaf.

Didn't we have a verbal from this young man last year? He has a world class first step:

This guy will be playing at Yulman on November 19th, a former verbal commit for "The University of Tulane":

What's your point? Lloyd played against Tulane last year too. I didn't enjoy watching it but there he was in a 49-10 romp for the Owls. Did you miss that game on TV?

Look CJ's gone including his misses. Again what's the point?

We need athletes up front & we need them now! We got lucky with Tanzel. Charlie Hall was the last player that Tulane had who could top Tanzel's play. On defense you can't scheme your way to make up for insufficient talent, we're way behind for next year with d-lineman.
BTW: I was at the game in Philadelphia, he didn't play that much, a few snaps in the second half.

Glad you went to the game. Tulane needs fans who support it in person at home and on the road. I think you have a 100% vote from every poster here that Tulane needs more talented players and most if not all would say Lloyd could help Tulane this year.

You have to go back to Tommy Mason to find a back in talent comparable to Matt Forte. So? Tulane has generally lost most of the last 60 years. We all know this.

So what does this have to do with Wallace? He appears talented even against lesser competition. Why not be happy he's in the pipeline? Meanwhile let's root for Fritz to find more Charley Halls. I'm there with you.

I get frustrated when I think that we could have had FBL as a redshirt sophomore rotating in with Tanzel, Sean & John Washington and Jacoby Hill redshirting at DE.

Correction:

William Wallace is 7 feet tall and shoots lighting bolts from his arse.
