Any information extant on this young man and how we and he got hooked up for an interview?

Not that I know of. But Dunleavy said he has European contacts. My guess is, this came from one of them.

Ondigo is a 6-10 PF from Arizona. Dont be fooled by his 2* rating. Looks like he is a late bloomer and really improved this summer. Schools appear to be jumping on his bandwagon. The great thing about him for us is that he is a 2017! So he can play next year. Has at least 4-5 P5 offers (Purdue, UNLV, K-State, Colorado, Texas Tech) alongwith Memphis. With Doug Stewart on board, I have been expecting us to go after 2017 big men with UNLV offers .. and thisis the first domino to fall. Besides Ondigo, still can go after Miles Brookins, Kenneth 'Kenny' Wooten, Tydus Verhoeven and Isaiah Whaley - all west coast big men and holding UNLV offers. Not everyone of these can accept UNLV.

Our big men offer list as on date is

2017
Malik Ondigo

2018
Kamaka Hepa
Immanuel Bates

2019
Karim Coulibaly
Kyran Rawson
Isaiah Mobley
Imajae Dodd

Bit of a bummer when you end up as the bridesmaid ...

https://twitter.com/JosipVrankic/status ... 8708668416

He committed to Santa Clara.

Dont understand the decision - clearly academics mattered to the kid - Academics, Dunleavy, New Orleans, Decent basketball conference to compete in ... we checked all boxes.

You didn't mention Silicon Valley, California weather or if the kid wanted to go to a Jesuit school. I'm simply asking and reciting what Santa Clara has and Tulane doesn't. (No it's not facilities. Leavey Center only seats 4500. It's a tie there and Hertz is definitely better for practice.)

This is one area where New Orleans may have been a detriment. Coming from a very low crime country like Canada to the one of the cities with the highest murder rates in a country with one of the highest murder rates in the Western world, may have made Santa Clara seem like a better choice.

Center Galin Smith Announcing Today at 5 pm. Choosing between Alabama and Tulane. I kinda like our chances here. He had several other high major offers. Will probably be Dunleavy's biggest :) get.

Be a Hero Today.... Adopt a Shelter Pet... The Beatles once sang "Can't Buy Me Love"... I disagree, unconditional Love can be bought, for the nominal adoption fee at your local Pet Shelter !

Pretty BIG news

This is the same school Kyrie Irving attended. Cheers to Dunleavy hopefully starting up a pipeline.
New Tulane coach Mike Dunleavy Sr. scored a double-double on Friday when he landed a pair of talented African big men from The Patrick School in Hillside, N.J.
Bul Ajang, 6-foot-9, and Buay Koka, 7-foot, both committed to Tulane following an official visit to campus last week. Both players are originally from South Sudan, and have been in the U.S. for four years.

Great news for our hoops program. This is an example of Dunleavy's contacts and years in the game paying dividends for our program. Congrats to the coaching staff!

That's OK. I think Darion Monroe said the same thing when he committed.

Big difference. These guys are NOT American kids. They actually CARE about academics.

They'll be signing next week.
Ajang and Koka become the third and fourth seniors from the school to commit Division 1 this year following guards Jamir Harris (Minnesota) and Marcus McClary (Monmouth). Those four will sign their National Letters of Intent on Wednesday at the school.
