I have listed below Tulane recruitment (rivals based) years back to 2004.

Image

The nose dive ended in 2007 and by 2012 there should be enough talent compete with CUSA.

College football is quite fluid and tied not to one recruiting year but 4 and to some extent 5 (if you can red shirt effectively)years.
At the bottom of chart highlighted in yellow is the 4 year Wtd Avg. This gives a somewhat clearer view of what over all team talent is likely to be in any one given year.

As you can see by the chart, the last three years have shown that Toledo has done his job recruitment wise and in 2012 should have a team that has a shot at winning CUSA West.

Green Wave thanks for posting and pardon my ignorance, but could you tell me what the numbers (5.30, 5.60, etc) represent? It's probably obvious and I'm having a "thick" moment but, if you would. Many thanks.

OOPS!

I didnt list that on the key.

The rating numbers are rivals based and range from 6.1 as a high and 4.9 as the low.

The numbers in grey are the average for that year.

The numbers in yellow are Weighted average giving more importance to senior class then junior etc, etc.

(Senior*4)+(junior*3)+(soph*2)+(Fresh*1)/10

Now lets move further west down the I-10 to Lafayette:

They had a better recruiting year than us!

Don't worry they are still 13 points behind us for 2011 as a whole.

Moving northward from Lafayette we stop at Ruston and the Lousianna Tech Bull dogs.

Tech had a great recruitment class this year and has beaten us in recruiting for the last three years.

VERY INTERESTING...not sure i understand how to follow the specific numbers but get that 5.84 & 5.35 is better than our 5.30.

We have to get above 5.50!!!

Do you think you could do this for the other sports?? (basketball/baseball mainly)

Go Tulane!
