That's for sharing! I remember him well. Unfortunately for us he was a better tennis player than he was a basketball coach.

Thanks. Glad to hear he's doing so well. He coached the freshman team for a few years and they had some undefeated seasons IIRC. He then got the top job. Unfortunately that didn't work out.

Dicky well into his 80's is still running strong around the community in 5&10K Races. His book "How Running Saves Lives " is being released and will be in Book Stores in December and January. Support a former Green Wave Coach who is an inspiration to all in the running community.
Longo is no fan of Tulane , still upset that he was wrongly terminated for wanting to bring in " five or six " black players to enable Tulane to compete . Longo then goes on to say that the AD told him that Tulane could and would not do that and that Longo was no longer welcome at Tulane .
About at the mid 40s minute mark .

He is still and big Tulane Fan and goes to the games. Your negative comment was uncalled for, Longo is a man of Character and represents the Green Wave Nation Well. Not to many individuals like him. One of a kind. Keep up the good work!!!

Wow. What a great story. I had no idea about his struggles growing up. Thanks for sharing.
Amazing how he makes a point to mention Tulane’s brutal admissions standards even back then (early 70’s). Needed at 23 ACT, 1200 SAT to even be recruited.
