Assistant coach for Western Kentucky. He just landed a 4/5 star rated as one of the top players in La. I sure wish we'd have kept him on the staff

Ultimately, it was his relationship with Western Kentucky assistant coach Shammond Williams that put the Hilltoppers over the edge, Anderson said.

Williams started recruiting Anderson when he was at Tulane and the two have bonded ever since.

“It’s early, but mostly I like coach Shammond. He’s been recruiting me since he was at Tulane,” Anderson said.
Here's the 5 star, 7 footer that also committed to WK from Chalmette HS.

Was Rick Stansbury a candidate for Tulane coach. He hired both previous assistants from Conroy's staff and they are tearing up the recruiting at a CUSA school.

From reading it it seems he's a shooting guard that can't shoot so he's trying to make him a PG.

I am more bummed about Mitchell Robinson's commitment than Anderson's. Maybe he will have a change of heart after he sees Dunleavy coach a few games. That said, clearly Shammond Williams is a great recruiter!

Once again Robinson is a bust. We don't want him and if we do we shouldn't. He's extremely soft and has serious attitude/personality issues.

Thanks sader. You obviously have inside info that I do not have. Makes him going to C-USA easier to swallow.

Lets trust Coach Dunleavy as a talent evaluator. The guy has a pretty good track record at the NBA level. I have no doubt he knows talent better than some geek on a recruiting site that issues four stars to high school kids.

I've seen him play about 10x. Size and athleticism is there but I watched a 6-0 Freshmen hold him to 2pts and out rebound him last year bc he was too physical for him.

Shammond Williams resigned from Western Kentucky no word on where he's headed. Quannas White also left for an assistant job at Houston.

Interesting to see how this plays out.
Williams, who is Robinson’s godfather, was heavily involved in his recruitment, as well as the rest of the Hilltoppers’ monster 2017 class. The repercussions of Williams’ resignation have already been felt, as Montez Mathis, a 2018 ESPN top-100 recruit, announced that he was no longer considering WKU.
