Unfortunately the clusterf__k Fitts and Dannen inherited has limited our options both academically and on the courts, fields. Ever since "deemphasis" in 1950 we have "done the 'wrong' thing" athletically and our undersized Endowment coupled with the disaster that was Cowen academically as well has us picking and choosing where to allocate assets rather than having the SEC or BIG XII luxury of sharing the wealth among all endeavors.sader24 wrote:TCU's football success got them into the Big 12. President Fitts , B of A , it's put up or forever hold your peace time . Make Tulane ATHLETICS relevant and top 30 again .
Any insight into JP's health? He has 8.2 innings in 4 appearances with 1 start with MSU. ERA is good (2.08). Innings are 7th on the team.tpstulane wrote:For sure.chain gang x man wrote:Instant Saturday or Sunday starter

As I posted in the Canizzaro thread, JP started the mid week game a day or two after Andy was fired. Pitched 4 or 5 solid innings. Seems like he's been relegated to the 'pen since.McWave wrote:Any insight into JP's health? He has 8.2 innings in 4 appearances with 1 start with MSU. ERA is good (2.08). Congrats to JP as he pitched Miss St today to a Regional Championship. JP started and went 7 complete innings giving up only one run and 2 hits on very little rest (he pitched Fri and Sunday). And the one run came on a strikeout that got on due to a dropped ball. Miss St beat OU 8-1 to win the Tallahassee Regional. They travel to Vandy for the Super.

JP in his first CWS appearance strikes out a batter. Through 8 no score. JP retired the 8th in order hit 95mph. Didn’t come out to finish the game in the 9th.

And? We;ve got many threads that still follow people who played at Tulane but didnt finish their career here. Even some who NEVER were affiliated with Tulane in any way. Lindsey Scott ring a bell?Show Me wrote: ↑Fri May 05, 2023 11:19 pm Last attended Mississippi St University

JP is a local kid who played many years for us. And if I remember correctly, he went to MSU as a grad transfer. Would that be any different than posting about Jeffrey Johnson?

Meant no harm there. Just pointing it out. He’s a Tulane graduate indeed.RobertM320 wrote: ↑Sat May 06, 2023 8:08 amAnd? The year at MSU seemed to jump-start his professional career.
He pitched out of trouble in the 1st inning when he loaded the bases with one out. The bullpen gave up 7 in the 8th to blow a 3-0 lead,

The bullpen gave up 7 in the bottom of the 8th, AFTER there were two outs and NO ONE ON BASE. Massive meltdown robs JP of his first major league win.
