Pro Update
http://tenniskalamazoo.blogspot.com/201 ... witter&m=1
Former Tulane All-American Dominik Koepfer has already tasted success in his first months as a pro tennis player. The 22-year-old German, who was ranked No. 1 in the country for most of last year's spring season, won his first Futures title last fall and reached another Futures final last month. This week, he is the No. 8 seed at the $15,000 Orlando Futures, and he began his tournament with a 6-7(4), 6-3, 6-1 win over 2012 ITF World Junior Champion Filip Peliwo of Canada today on the Har-Tru courts of the USTA National Campus.

What an accomplishment! Best of luck, and good job by the Tulane SID for getting the story out!

Koepfer broke his opponent’s will with a 3rd set tiebreak win. Up 5-1 in the forth. This is over. Congrats.

Over 3 sets to 1. He is really good.

His opponent was ranked 52 to Koepfer's 130, and had earned $2.66 million in his career to Dominik's $223k. Clearly this was a big win, and each match (as we all know) gets bigger.

ROLL DOMINIK ROLL!

Damn london time zone. Koepfer was 10-2 last year on grass so he knows the play style (grass is super fast and skids). Next match against #24 in the world, and than if he somehow pulls it out . . Federer

Cant find any good highlights. This is it so far:

Actually, if he wins the next match, he'll play the winner of Bagdatis/Berretini.
Should he win THAT match, he'll play Federer, barring upsets.

Koepfer doesn't play today until the last match on court 12 while the world is watching Nadal/Kygrios.

Dominik wins his first round match at the US Open, which guarantees he'll crack the top 100 in the rankings!

The Dominator will play at 5 PM EDT on Wednesday. He's playing Reilly Opelka, a 6'11" giant with a beast of a serve. He's 0-3 against Opelka lifetime, but last time they played he had a couple of match points that Opelka overcame.

GO GET EM Dominik!
