Aaron Loup has been optioned to Buffalo
Rob Segedin continues his hot streak. He loves Zephyr pitching he hit another HR over the weekend
Brandon Gomes was released. Don't we need a pitching coach

Aaron Loup is 3-0 with Buffalo. Trying to work his way back up to Toronto
Rob Segedin is hitting .318 with 21 HR
Emerson Gibbs got his first professional win going 5 innings in a 7-0 victory. On a side note his father Larry Gibbs was able to go to Phoenix to witness Emerson's performance. I'm sure he took a lot of pics. Larry recently had a medical procedure and is on his way back to full recovery.

Ian Gibaut has a 1.38 ERA in 20 appearances
Randy LeBlanc has evened his record to 4-4
Stephen Alemais continues to amaze with his defense
Jake Rogers is hitting .253 with 7 doubles, 1 triple and 2 HR. Jake has thrown out 28% of base runners trying to steal
Alex Massey is 2-1 with an impressive ERA of 1.42 and 22 K in 19 innings

The biggest news of this past week was the promotion on Rob Segedin to the Dodgers
In his debut Rob went 2-3 with 4 RBI a record for a Dodger rookie in his first game. Rob now has 5 RBI hitting a sac fly in his next game.
Rob and his wife Robin are expecting their first child in about a week
CONGRATS ROB!!!!!

Preston Claiborne picked up his second win. He has 34 K's in 32.2 innings

Aaron Loup continues to impress at Buffalo. Picking up a save while striking out 17 in 14.1 innings

Jake Rogers showed off his arm by picking off a runner at first from his knees.

Emerson Gibbs is now in the Pioneer league playing for Helena

If memory serves me right didn't Nate Fury pitch one year for Tulane?

Looks like Sports Nola had trouble with their post this week all the players are mixed up
Here's what I can tell you

Rob Segedin hit his first HR this week and his wife went into labor that night. They are the proud parents of a baby boy. Rob hit his second HR the next day. Looks like he may stick it out for the playoffs
Aaron Loup was recalled to Toronto
Stephen Alemais was promoted to the next level of A ball
Jake Rogers is on the watch list for the 2020 Olympics

This is the final week of Minor League Baseball
Congratulations to Randy LeBlanc on being promoted to AA. Randy won his first outing going 7 inning, striking out 5 and allowing 5 hits. Many of us know it has been a long road for Randy since his Tommy John surgery
Alex Massey's team won their championship
Here's wishing all of them congratulations and hope to see them next year

This will be the final posting for the Hometown Heroes for 2016

Emerson Gibbs finished out the year on a positive note picking up a win while going 5 innings allowing no runs on 2 hits and striking out 10
Aaron Loup and Rob Segedin will end the year in the big leagues
Josh Zeid had a winning record at AAA
Preston Claiborne, Randy LeBlanc and Tyler Mapes all had winning seasons at AA
Stephen Alemais, Ian Gibaut and Jake Rogers finished in A I'm sure Stephen and Jake deserve a rest
Finally we had Emerson Gibbs, Alex Massey and Trevor Simms in Rookie League

Congratulations to all the Tulane Alum in professional baseball. Hopefully our ranks will grow in the future. We have a talented senior class this coming year

Fall ball gets started in the next 2 weeks

As a side note Ken Trahan finally listed Nate Fury as a Tulane player

Have a good offseason
See y'all on the sidelines
