It doesn't bother me that they may have pushed Bowers out (even though it may be a bad decision)...she's been here a long time, she has somewhat of a retirement parachute considering the years she has. there will be casualties. We lost some good assistants when CJ was moved out.
It would bother me if we don't see others moved out. There are some clear dead-heads who fully embraced and practiced the anti-fan and other philosophies of Dickson that are still in the athletic department. They need to go. And I think they will.

What good assistants did we lose when CJ moved out? Maybe Rollins and Lionel. Who else?

Political move against Sue was the word at the game tonight. Too bad.

It has the look and smell of a Burke move. Thank God she didn't get the AD job, too bad she's still around polluting the environment.

Here my $0.02: (I have no inside info)

I really really like Sue -- hardest worker I have seen at TU.

She was very much anti BB.

TD from day one has praised BB.

For better or worse TD has blessed the BB camp.

Oh, I think BB has done good work here, too.

Sorry to hear about Sue's resignation. Does anyone know what she is doing now? Retiring, taking a job elsewhere, staying or not staying in New Orleans?

I know this is a fevered swamp around here but as Freud said, "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar." Any of you folks think that like a lot of other longtime employees at Tulane, she simply accepted the very generous buyout/early retirement package that Fitts offered to help Tulane balance its budget? Anyone here have friends/family in say the oil business that are doing this right now?

I know it's more fun to break a sweat fretting about inter-office machinations but sometimes the obvious simple answer is the correct one. Nice lady. I wish her well.

ENOUGH WITH THE INITIALS. Are you talking about Baseball, Basketball or Barbara Burke?

ENOUGH! Use the names of the people involved, don't be lazy.

Sue Bower to head athletics at St. Martin's Epsicopal School.

Bower brings an impressive array of experience from her twenty-year tenure with Tulane Athletics. She was Head Women’s Golf Coach from 1992-2006. Since then, Bower served in various departmental leadership capacities, most recently as Associate Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator, and was a member of the Athletic Department Executive Team. She also served as the Executive Director for the Kate and Bob Devlin S-AFE Center for Leadership Development.

Be a Hero Today.... Adopt a Shelter Pet... The Beatles once sang "Can't Buy Me Love"... I disagree, unconditional Love can be bought, for the nominal adoption fee at your local Pet Shelter !

Ad Dannen chose well by favoring Barbara Burke.

With a ringing endorsement from Tricky Ricky, his first public pronouncement since being removed from office, there is no doubt that Tulane will be far better off without her being a dark cloud hangover from CowDick days.

Is Tricky Ricky still on the payroll ? Disgusting.
President Fitts , B of A , it's put up or forever hold your peace time . Make Tulane ATHLETICS relevant and top 30 again .

Sue was hired by Kevin White way before CowDick in 1992, Burke was hired during the CowDick error. She was one of the few shining stars around during that error.
Wouldn't expect anything less from a troll about a great person that dedicated almost 25 years of service to Tulane.
Keep trolling Jonathan.

Burke was not Cowen/Dickson's person; she was the BOT's person, who almost got the AD job. It was pretty clear from the start that Dannen was going to embrace her.
Now, did that mean Bower had to go? Not necessarily, but apparently, Burke did not get along with Bower, so she had to go.
An unfortunate casualty; but a casualty in an upheaval that needed to happen.

I am surprised that we've seen so little turnover in the department. (maybe there has been some at staff level positions, of which I'm unaware). But there is a prominent member who clearly embraced the "go across the street" philosophy and zoned-out/banned fans critical of him and Dickson for not promoting TU opportunities; and he apparently, hasn't changed that position.
