He had a 53 yarder and the winning touchdown. Also had 24 yards receiving. Solid outing.

How late in the game was he playing? If it was fourth quarter, that might earn him a spot on the practice squad, at best.Robert1969 wrote:He had a 53 yarder and the winning touchdown. Also had 24 yards receiving. Solid outing.
I hope Orleans is healthy, and that he sticks with an NFL team. But playing late in preseason games makes the results almost meaningless. The competition is about to be cut as well. If he opened some eyes, great, but don't expect him active when the roster goes from 100+ to 75 to 53.
Ryan Grant is opening a lot of eyes, and he was a 5th round draft choice. But if he makes the team, which he should, it will be interesting to see how many games this year he's active for. Clearly, he learned the playbook quickly.
Cairo is in a tough battle with Succup.

Yes, it was late. He might only be practice squad material at this point, but at least that would give him a good shot at making the team next year, if he continues to improve.DfromCT wrote:How late in the game was he playing? AWESOME!
I hope Cairo wins out over Succup, whom had just about an equal preseason. If not, I wouldn't mind seeing him with the Saints.

The automatic spell check on my iPhone changed the name of the thread. Trying to fix it.

“My coach at Tulane (Curtis Johnson) was the Saints receivers coach, so he brought with him elements of the Saints offense,” Darkwa explained, noting that there are a lot of similarities to what the Giants do.
Be proactive, being reactive is for losers..

Maybe he's the type of former player that should be talking to new recruits. Letting them know WHY playing in our offense would benefit both them and us.winwave wrote:Extend CJ!tpstulane wrote:Orleans gives CJ credit for learning a pro offense

Hopefully he plays on a regular basis next season and thus could be impressive to future recruits.RobertM320 wrote:Maybe he's the type of former player that should be talking to new recruits. Orleans is getting every opportunity to make the Giants. There's long odds, with Jennings, Vereen, Andre Williams all ahead of him. But he got a lot of action last week, and is in with a mix of starters and 2's this week, the second week of the preseason. This is a game that the earlier you're in and out of the game, the better your chances of making at minimum the first cut.
Go Orleans! Go Giants!

There's a whole lot of competition for the starting and 2nd string job and Darkwa is in the thick of it. But he's probably going to make the team even if he doesn't land in the top 2 on the depth chart, because he's been very good on special teams.JerseyWave wrote:Re-signing with the Giants for another year.
