I heard they had some fumbles and didn't have the ball that much during the game.AugWave wrote:Damn! Why the hell didn't they throw the ball more?tpstulane wrote:Lee had a good day 13-16 265 yrds 2 TD's including a 59 yard bomb.

Yep, Jesuit has trouble getting off the field on defense and they fumbled at least twice.tpstulane wrote:I heard they had some fumbles and didn't have the ball that much during the game.AugWave wrote:Damn! this is in response to the "inside information" regarding Tanner Lee ignoring anyones calls and that he has been contacted by Stanford. You need to check your source, family or not because it is not true. Tanner Lee would not ignore anyone, ask his coaches or anyone who knows him. I am sure Tanner appreciates your comments on his future at Tulane and kind words regarding his abilities but from someone with true inside knowledge from Jesuit, he has not been contacted but the Coaches mentioned.
These are the stats for Tanner Lee from the West Jeff Game.......13-27 270 yds 2 Tds.....also fumbled once when he was sacked. Pretty much was under pressure all night....do not know where the 13-16 passes attempts and completions were from..

With their next opportunity, Lee, who finished 13-of-16 for 265 yards and two touchdowns, hit wide receiver Mitchell Alexander....
....Lee found Mitchell Alexander for a 59-yard touchdown pass that made the score 14-7.

This guy isn't ready start at the college level. He looks like he is 12 years old. Get in the weight room and grow some facial hair. See you in a few years.

No s*** Jersey. He's gonna be a freshman. He's not the golden child, he's a great prospect. Get some nice grooming and he could be a great QB.

Possibly even a RS-FR. That's why some kid from Montana has basically been named starter for the next 2 years.AugWave wrote:No s*** Jersey. He's gonna be a freshman.
I would expect Powell named as backup and possibly Van Hooser the 3rd string in a pinch.
Check back in 3 years, JW.

Not taking a shot at the kid. I hope he has a bright future at Tulane. Just a feeling, if he's starting in 2013 we are in trouble.
As Augwave said, no shit. We have a guy who's been in the system 1 year and a guy who's been playing college football for two years and will be here for spring practice. Almost no chance Lee starts this year over those two. I'd expect him to redshirt.
Lee will liekly be redshirted, because Powell can't be again. It just makes sense. But its hard for me to say that Powell brings more to the table than Lee, when Powell was such a deer in headlights last year. Lee could be worse than that if he had to played, but its hard to get worse than that.Eaglewave wrote:As I have stated before, I feel that Powell brings more to the table than Lee. Lee needs to be redshirted. Montana will win the starting job this spring.
Basically, if Montana goes down, we are ****'ed, and the season is a bust, so it doesn't matter.
That is why Montana was such a huge pickup. He has three years at the college/juco level. If he is just as good as Griffin was last year, we can go to a bowl this year.
Powell has a cannon for an arm and his good on his feet. You can't judge him by being thrown into fire last season against Ole Miss. Powell has had time to understand the offense much better than last season. He showed in high school that he is very athletic and can make plays. CJ was high on him for a reason. I do agree with your views on Montana. He might even be better than Griffin. He plays just like him, but doesn't stare at his WR's like Griffin did.OUG wrote:Lee will liekly be redshirted, because Powell can't be again. It just makes sense.
