Speaking of "former", Robin used the pharse, we're here with "his 'former' coach Curtis Johnson". I know Devon no longer plays for CJ but I would have said "his coach from Tulane, Curtis Johnson". Once a coach always a coach.... Once an New Orleanian always a New Orleanian.

Robin just was confused. Give her a pass. I assume that she with her heavy stroke as co host of Good Morning America brought Devon, coach and his extended family in to NYC at a hefty cost to ABC.

If I remember correctly Robin was born and grew up in either Mississippi or Alabama...came to Louisiana to play ball at SELA

Yes you are correct. Her sister is Sally Ann Roberts co host of the WWL TV morning show. Robin had some severe health issues recently that she overcame.

I hope with all the fan fare around this that Devon has an opportunity to address the team before the game. Tulsa owned our Wave for years before we squeezed out a victory against a bad Hurricane team last year. This year is time for us to put a beating on them as they did to us for quite a few years.

It's time for the team to take a step up, and what a great opportunity to bury some of Tulane's worst football experiences.

ROLL WAVE!

I hope it's just poor writing by the T-P but CJ is quoted as saying Devon approached him about going to Tulsa. In Devon's interview he clearly says CJ and RD approached him about going.

I always felt that it would be a much better tribute to Devon Walker to have the players vote for the most courageous player on the team to wear 18 each year. It's a living tribute rather than just removing the number.
