Not necessarily. As we learned earlier in this thread, some second round picks get guaranteed deals, some do not. He can always threaten to play a couple of years overseas then come back.

I wish Melvin the best. And pray he doesn't do the same thing with his hair when his Tulane team played games in Orlando this past year. That look was more suited for HS than the NBA.

Congrats Melvin wishing you the best of luck. I thought his best shot at the 1st Rd was with the Warriors but they took the Cincy guard.

With the 5th Pick of the 2nd Round, the Magic select Melvin Frazier. Follow via Draftcast. www.espn.com/nba/draft/live

Last year the 35th pick:
Memphis Grizzlies: Ivan Rabb, F/C (Cal): Signed
Three-year, $3.95MM contract. First two years fully guaranteed.

While I'm sure Melvin and his agent were disappointed to not go higher, if he gets anything close to this type of deal, it will mean he made the right decision. The new coach of the Magic apparently treats his roster as a clean slate, so Melvin will get an opportunity to prove himself.

you think if he had worn jersey #30 or lower he would have gone in the first round? Coincidence that he wore 35 and went 35th? I think not.

yep and makes so much sense now. Smart kid could see that his stock was more likely to decrease with another year in this system.
