Seems like a good time to break out the hard stuff.

Obviously, this.sader24 wrote:We can't score with Montana at QB. Everyone who was begging for him is crazy. There was a reason Lee was starting.

The 4 seconds running off the clock is on the clock operator, not us. The 4th down spike on the other hand...
We just had no sense of urgency on that drive until it was too late.

Tanner just happens to be supremely talented. Montana looks to me like a mediocre D1A QB and Powell looks like a low end D1A QB, but in all cases the production does not match what should be expected.OUG wrote:He is part of the problem.JerseyWave wrote:Montana isn't the problem.Jonathan wrote:Montana is not getting us into the end zone for scores. Can we give Tanner or Devon a chance to succeed. Fire the Prices now!
Tanner actually moved the offense, the only problem was the INTs
The problems are consistent through 3 QBs. The offense is abysmal, even thought the OL is now quite decent, we have talent at RB and some talent at WR.
Bottom line is that Price(s) must go, no questions asked. We'll see if CJ has the stones to do the obvious, but it took him way longer than necessary to figure out that Montana > Powell and James > Hilliard at KOR.
And the clock management there? Ugh.

We are a good team that is poorly coached. Same problem throughout the CJ era......the offense can't find the endzone!

You're wrong. Just went back and watched it and the clock was running before he spotted it.sader24 wrote:Official spotted ball, we move like a sloth on offense
The defensive coaching IMO is good enough. Offensive coaching is atrocious. Offense has no pace or rhythm. It looks like 10-11 yr old football. I had a more expansive playbook and a better command of offense as a 10 yr old than any of our QBs has. That's coaching.

Ok, it shouldn't have mattered anyway bc we should've called a timeout immediately.

2 minute drill!!!!????? Why pass in the middle when you need to get out of bounds ? Why run-up-the-middle- to use up the clock? What a PUTZ. Has price ever been successful as an OC? He's as successful as RD is personable.
You can talk about timeout theory and other fine points, but I never understand how some coaches can't manage the clock. And this includes NFL coaches, Herm Edwards was the worst. It makes the players feel like you're not giving them a chance to succeed.

No doubt we've closed the gap in the talent department. A couple of years ago UCF was blowing us off the field. Now, it's the coaching that is holding us back.
