Being a run first minded team doesn't mean you can't change it up every now and then. SMU's defense sucks, so we can pass and run on them. However, we have to eat up the clock and keep their offense off the field. Our defense isn't deep or solid enough to stay on the field. SMU will score on us.
We still least agree that we can pass and run and mix it up.
In a perfect world we would eat up clock. We all get that. But they are going to score whether they have a little time or not. So we need to keep going after their D and get those chunk plays. Let's do this.
Remember too that they are good at getting turnovers so long drives could favor them .

Yes, but it's better that SMU's offense is off the field as much as you can possibly keep them. You keep your defense on the sidelines learning, resting and trying to figure our what they can do to make some differences.

Anyone see Aruna getting held on the 3rd and 15 play? Officials seem to have selective vision. They miss two face mask penalties on SMU and the n call the back breaker on us

I sure thought that on the long incompletion to Encalade that the defender got a hold of Encalades collar as he was going up to defend. No call.

We called the wrong running plays at the wrong times in that drive. The drive begin wrong by going for the homerun in the passing game after the defense made the stop.

Nope. Drive went wrong when we went conservative. Needed to stay aggressive.
