Coach Fritz has a plan and he's working with a sense of urgency. "These seniors don't have three years...."

I also like that he told the players to get with the program or they are GONE!!!.....Accountability!!!

This is a dream come true for a long suffering Tulane fan.

“I purposely have a not watched a lot of film of Tulane. I don’t want to get preconceived notions about our players,” said Fritz.

He probably would leave if he did- a lot of guys are lucky to get a second chance. He is serious and they better use the next 2 months to get stronger and in shape. There will be a lot of blood, sweat and tears in Spring training.

The good ship CJ lolipop has gone and there's going to be a lot of tough times ahead for the young men that stick it out and want to win at Tulane. I really think the team has a chance to go bowling in 2016, and compete for the conference title sooner rather than later. What a different feeling than we've had in some time.

one thing is for sure...all of those fat "Big Thumpers' that CJ touted, will have to work that azz's off to get in shape...everyone of those guys could have beed a contestant on TV's "Biggest Loser" ... It's one thing to be big...but to be big, fat, LAZY, and out of shape is something totally different..so all of you so call "thumpers"...I actually call you "thumpeets" ...it is time to pay the bill or run back to mommy, daddy or CJ's entitled Coach of choice

I'm tempering my expectations for 2016. I think the team will be fundamantally better in areas like organization, time management, conditioning, etc from the get go but it may take a while for those that are left and the new players to gel and really get the offense down. The second half of the season should be much better than the first but it may be too late to bowl by then. Still much better than the alternative (status quo).

Fritz ought to take a page from the Bear Bryant book, and take the team to Junction, Texas. Then return after 2 or 3 weeks with only about 50 players--who then would produce a great 2016 season.

It will be interesting to see who really gets serious about the program. We'll know more, after spring practice, about the returning players and early enrollees. The recruiting picture is getting more interesting day by day and I don't think you will see any overweight linemen in this class. WF knows what he wants and apparently is aggressively going after the recruits that fits his profile. Am I dreaming all that has happened in the last 2 months?

This article is an indictment on Cowen/Dickson. Dannen and Fritz have to clean up the mess and fix everything that is broken. An on campus Stadium should be a cash cow for Tulane. We need a winning home team. There should be a high school game every Friday. The fan experience has to improve. The one year honeymoon period for 2016 is over and it's time for Fritz and Dannen to produce results in 2017.

The only way for much of what you say needs to happen is the NIMBY agreement needs to be voided...the west side enlarged, the stadium equipped with a retractable inflated dome roof...or we can just buy out the NIMBY's or place bloody horse heads in their beds...they all work for me

I went to the Saints game at the Dome yesterday and went to the Tu vs Temple game at Yulman the week before. To compare the two experiences is like comparing night to day. The atmosphere depends on the crowd size and not the venue. It was the first time in quite awhile I experienced what a real fan experience should be like. Saints fans were tailgating all over the place. Once inside the crowd noise was incredible. Whereas at Yulman it's dead. I just can't see Tulane getting that type of crowd any longer. We've lost too many generations of fans over the years. Tailgating at Tulane is great. I'd rather be on campus then at the Dome any day. I'm not convinced if we win the crowds will fill Yulman. I believe people have found other things to do with their time. Maybe once in awhile playing an Ole Miss we'd fill it but on a consistent basis I don't see it. The Dome wasn't our problem but Yulman wasn't going to solve the problem either.

TPS....I somewhat agree with your statement...however college and pro fans are vastly different...I have not been to a pro games in decades and only watch pro games when the "Cowboys' play, simply because my wife insist and many times I go play golf when they are on TV...If Tulane can win some games they will draw...at one time Temple,Memphis, Northwestern, Stanford, Houston were empty and silent...winning solves many issues

I don't believe we play an attractive enough schedule to draw new fans in. It's better than CUSA but really not any so-called "football" schools are in the AAC that the casual fan would pay money to see in person. Winning will help some but you have to do it for about 3 or 4 years straight to build something.

There is no way to know for sure either way unless Tulane starts winning. With a solid defense and a couple of electrifying offensive players, the whole dynamic COULD change. "Could" is a key word; no one really knows. A 22nd ranked Tulane team playing a 10th ranked Houston or Navy in late October at Yulman COULD be a huge event. We will never know unless it happens, and it has to happen more than once. There are enough really good football players in this state to provide a solid foundation; and a coaching staff that has enough regional connections to snag a few special players. We just have to wait and see, but this is probably our last chance at relevance. Dannen, Fritz, Dunleavy, Stockton, Jewett, Barnes are about as good a cast of characters as we are going to see around here at one time. It has to pay off in the next 2-3 years or it probably never will.

The fans have been brained washed by this PEE 5 krap...Houston beat PEE 5 Ranked teams...Navy had a very good year, Temple was more than competitive, Memphis had it's up and downs and Tulsa was pretty sound....Texas Tech, Kansas, Iowa State, Indiana, Purdue, Wake, Duke, Syracuse, Northwestern, Georgia, Mississippi State, Vandy, Maryland, Virginia all would have had a few L's in the AAC...the only thing these schools are good at is getting their PEE 5 money
