Baseball roster down to 33
Singley and Fraley gone
Fraley and Zubia were centerpiece recruits for Pierce
Pierce left the cupboard empty
We are thin at catcher and pitching

Tough losses. How were those 2 guys doing in fall? I had expected both were going to compete for playing time.

Lack of arm strength at catcher is akin to lack of a QB that can throw in football in my book. No doubt we are going to miss Jake Rogers. We can only hope JM is healthy enough to survive the entire season and his arm is back to 100%. Otherwise it could end up being our achilles' heel.

4th Down on Four was out at Turchin and showed the new turf in last nights broadcast. They mentioned other improvements were made to the park but were not specific.

Maybe Jewett can employ the Joe Madden strategy:

Calling all " Walk On's"...chance to see the country, work on your tan lines and bond with others
Be a Hero Today.... Adopt a Shelter Pet... The Beatles once sang "Can't Buy Me Love"... I disagree, unconditional Love can be bought, for the nominal adoption fee at your local Pet Shelter !

Fraley played very little
Singley had to throw the ball back to the pitcher underhanded

Not making excuses stating facts
We have no true juniors on the roster
Most of Pierce's recruits were wash outs
Pierce was playing the Gautreaux recruits last year
Jewett has 23 recruits coming next year many of them JUCO

*Tulane's position players are stacked.
*After this year we lose everyone
*23 recruits Jewetts staff has brought in aren't ranked like the talent Gaut's #5 Perfect Game 2013 class was
*Position players are top 10 in country and could play with anyone with several snrs been starting since freshmen.
*We showed that last year by being 8-1 vs top 25 rpi teams in regular season.
*We were 5-1 vs teams that made super regional last year in regular season
*We've only lost 2 pos. players from last yr, I have a feeling 2 more will step up that were hurt (ie Brown/Dehart/Rowland).

*Our pitching is the major concern.
*Starting pitching is good enough to get us to CWS
*Question mark is Bullpen
*Merrill has been our Friday nighter for 3 years
*France is tiger killer and Friday nighter as true freshmen.
*Ross Massey was phenomenal last year and he was not even mature then

*If bullpen performs, then we should be CWS bound, if they don't, then we should be regional and out which was kind of our story last year.

*Fieldturf looks fantastic, now we only need overhang like LSU over the chair backs.

+1
Anything less than a CWS berth will be a big disappointment.

Maybe we can get Jackson Johnson to come back to baseball
He has only played 3 minutes for the basketball team
He is left handed and pitched in high school

From what I heard a coach say his elbow is shot as far as pitching goes.

Whomever is responsible for double checking bio info mixed up Jack Hogan's hometown and the town of his Prep School. The Hill School is located in Pottstown, PA. McMurray, PA, is his hometown and is nowhere near Pottstown (roughly 275 miles away). The Hill School is practically an Ivy League Prep School. A whole lot of our Frosh players are from affluent families judging from the Prep School backgrounds.
