I will definitely MISS the 03/08/2011 game in Monroe, LA. I turn 59 on that day, and besides, it's Mardi Gras Day, and I will be TOTALLY NUMB when the sun sets.

At this point in my life, I am just hoping to make it to 60 and retire before I work myself to death!

I ALWAYS look forward to baseball.

The C*USA BASEBALL Tournament will be held in Pearl, Miss. for the next three years (if I am wrong, someone please correct). Pearl is a suburb of Jackson, Miss. (located southeast of downtown Jackson). For us Tulanians, a drive NORTH on I-55 to Jackson and then a turn off on I-20 EAST to Pearl is the best way to get there.

Trustmark Park is where the AA Mississippi Braves play (yes, an Atlanta Brave farm team).

I am not sure if the league is going back to the old 8-team double elim. format, or if it will keep the 6-team pool play format that it had last year.

I have formats for a 5-team or a 6-team double elim. tournament setup if anyone is interested. I have tried to share my ideas with the C*USA people with NO SUCCESS.

I know it's basketball season and we're right in the middle of football recruiting, but does anyone know when the baseball team will start practice for the upcoming season? I'd like to make a couple of practices.

St. Amant - Monitor Tulane's site. They post the practice schedule in advance. It should come out soon.

Latest on this year's tournament from the conference site.

An EIGHT-team pool play format will be used. EIGHT teams will be in the tournament.

ALL teams will be guaranteed playing three games. The two winners of each pod will play for the championship on the fourth day of the tournament.

What does everyone reasonably expect from this year's squad? Looking at the schedule, 40 wins is easily within our reach (barring major injuries).

i believe its going back to 8 teams. if we can find a friday starter and we can replace seggy in some form i think top 3-5 in cusa. maybe not exactly 'back to glory' but heading in the right direction.
