associated with Tulane Athletics is poisoned by being associated with The Dickson Disease. Scheduling, hires, employee morale, student volunteers, even honoring athletes for past performance. The distrust and disdain he is viewed with in our circle carries well beyond us, as evidenced by his fellow ADs, who should support each other, taking turns at putting him down and laughing at his stupidity.

He must be fired. He is worse than THE BLACK PLAGUE. HE IS THE DICKSON PLAGUE.

Forgot fundraising.

Well I'd agree, but the problem is we don't have enough Pete's who are crying every day about us being saddled with Dickson/The Tulane Model.

Thanks for your efforts, Pete.

Hey, we have tried to bring Dicksons incompetence to light.....put our own family reputation on the line . We have a former athlete that has tried, wrote a full page letter for the school paper (by the way I penned that letter) written emails, attempted to get him to speak to us, been called many vulgar names, threatened etc. and even assisted with hiring of a plane with a banner to show our displeasure. NO ONE IN THE RIGHT PLACE CARES! Bottom line . The powers that be are evidently satisfied with his performance ...

As long as money flows in ....the status quo remains....only thing in the fan favor is that the AAC WILL NOT TOLERATE this program becoming stagnant....IF we don't rise , we WILL be asked to leave ...and I will put my money on that statement!!

Good point. We've been aiming way too low.

We should do whatever it takes to get AAC powers that be involved.

His ---- pile grows larger daily with each new revelation ?

Allow this to be a new, separate topic. This is a NEW QUESTION.

This is RD at his best....The larger the Pile...the harder it is for someone to have the Balls to come in and clean it up..so they just allow him to keep adding to his pile of krap....In actuality cleaning up his mess is very simple...walk in the door with someone form "HR", and start handing out the severance checks. This is done everyday in corporate America... Hire me, and I will walk in the door tomorrow...Also Campus security or off duty NOLA Police should escort these individuals from the property...then everyone will get the message... In hindsight it was a good thing for many of the current Tulane employees that have been there for many years that Leach did not get the gig..because their azz's would have been long gone
Be a Hero Today.... Adopt a Shelter Pet... The Beatles once sang "Can't Buy Me Love"... I disagree, unconditional Love can be bought, for the nominal adoption fee at your local Pet Shelter !

And yet the problem is, that's why Cowen/Dickson wouldn't even consider Leach. They like weak yes-men they can control.

I can respect that. But do we have to see a never-ending series of daily threads with the same message? How about posting a daily message to the same stinkin' thread. After all, he's preaching to the choir here.

Honestly? I do. I hope to see that stuff every day until people stop getting angry at Pete and start directing that anger at the cause of the problem.

I believe Rick Dickson's contract expired on June 1st. Today being June 2nd means Rick Dickson is no longer employed by Tulane University and we can officially close this sorry era of Athletic history.

When Rick first arrived, he was gangbusters. He insisted on only home-home deals with quality OOC opponents, had Oklahoma lined up to come to the Dome and then decided to back off at the last minute because it would've involved dropping an LSU road game (he was trying to get the LSU series re-established at the time. He didn't give up until the LSU series was in fact re-established, a 10 year home-home, it was quite an achievement at the time. LSU's new AD later cancelled that, Tulane had nothing to do with it. He threw everything he had into saving TU athletics during the Review, and felt truly blindsided / betrayed by Cowen on that. Cowen had to work at restoring a relationship afterward.

Where that guy went, I still have no idea. I certainly agree with all here that by the last 5 years, it was clear Rick Dickson needed to go.

Let me refresh your memory. Sandy Barbour scheduled a home and home with Clemson and a two for two with Georgia that were all cancelled by Rick Dickson. This really pissed off Vince Dooley who was the Georgia AD at the time. Dickson scheduled 1AA opponents every year like Southern, McNeese and Florida A&M in their place. I credit Dickson for the 10 year contract with LSU and a home and home with Texas. Other than that Dickson's scheduling practices were terrible. He really accomplished nothing his first three years at Tulane before Cowen's review. He had no plan, no vision. And Katrina bought him a decade of excuses for failure and incompetence.

If you want to give credit for the Texas home and home...give it to Mack Brown...not Dickson
