Regardless of TU's misfortune in baseball of late, this is an absolutely absurd poll question. TU fans need to give Tammy hell for this.
If there was ever an clear sign of who the TP caters to...

178-126-3 = "dominating"? Tammy is a hack.
Prior to a few years ago Rick Jones was around .500 over his career vs LSUmbawavefan12 wrote:178-126-3 = "dominating"? Tammy is a hack.

Forget the T/P --- it is a dying dinosaur. You and others out here need to pay more attention to what is in the New Orleans/Baton Rouge/Acadiana ADVOCATE news.

It's not a clear sign of who the TP caters to, it's a sign of the lack of quality journalism along with click bait headlines. They are selling clicks, not news.

It's also a clear sign of what the local sports fan's are interested in, and spare me the nonsense that it's the papers fault that TU has no fans.....it's 99% TU's fault. With that being said, Tammy is a hack. It also doesn't help that TU has partnered with The Advocate.jonathanjoseph wrote:It's not a clear sign of who the TP caters to, it's a sign of the lack of quality journalism along with click bait headlines. Do you blame Tulane for partnering with the Advocate? The TP has sold out on Tulane for the past 20 years. I know we shoot ourselves in the foot, but when I was a kin we got equal coverage in the paper, on the news and were on WWL. LSU had the huge fan advantage then also.mbawavefan12 wrote:It's also a clear sign of what the local sports fan's are interested in, and spare me the nonsense that it's the papers fault that TU has no fans.....it's 99% TU's fault. The Times Picayune is a has been. As you all know they do not publish a daily like the New Orleans Advocate seven days a week, only three. All their best people such as reporters have moved to the Advocate. THey moved their printing out of Louisiana and all the major officers such as publishers are not from Louisiana but out of state. They made no large donation for the construction of Yulman Stadium as the Advocate did. Sad to see this paper fail with out of state ownership. I transferred my 50 year subscription from the TP last year to the Advocate. The only positive is Tammy's video interviews with Tulane players and coaches on NOLA.

the only "T-P" I use, wipes my azz .... and I keep asking my lovely, beautiful, stunning looking wive to purchase the kind with Aloe and Vitamin E
Be a Hero Today.... Adopt a Shelter Pet... The Beatles once sang "Can't Buy Me Love"... I disagree, unconditional Love can be bought, for the nominal adoption fee at your local Pet Shelter !

I don't know blame is relevant. I mean the Advocate didn't care about Tulane until we signed on with them. I am sure when you were a kid Tulane was still relevant in the city. Now we have 500 people showing up to Bball and baseball games. 5k for FBall in the Dome and though last years attendance was decent for the opening of Yulman, by the end of the year it was half full. Look at when the T.P. posts a story on Tulane, it get zero or max a few comments.
I do agree the TP is a rag but if they are in the pageviews game and TU gets none.

Blame isn't relevant. Does Scott Cowen's PR team have any trouble getting him positive national press? I'm pretty sure he could get more T-P sports coverage if he wanted it. Cowen/Dickson only get away with this because they do things in secret. They don't want more press.mbawavefan12 wrote:Wavetime wrote:Do you blame Tulane for partnering with the Advocate? Ironically, the T-P has yet to even cover the Cowen 20 million dollar deficit story? So, the T-P seems to now completely ignore Tulane, good or bad?
Virtually all Tulane law graduates in the CBD now know of the deficit and Cowen's few remaining supporters here are presently in full retreat.

That's the way Cowen wants it. The only message out there for 15 years has been the one he's controlled. But you can't hide the truth forever.Wave755 wrote:Ironically, the T-P has yet to even cover the Cowen 20 million dollar deficit story? So, the T-P seems to now completely ignore Tulane, good or bad?

True, but you can be assured that the Cowens will continue 'earning' $1.2MM/year while on vacation, despite the deficit.

We should put together a letter to send to all media members regarding Scott Cowen, Rick Dickson and the state of the university (particularly athletics and vs our peers). I'd be happy to edit/participate but not the one to write the first version.jonathanjoseph wrote:That's the way Cowen wants it. Sure restart that as well. I think the letter guarantees it reaches the proper channels.jonathanjoseph wrote:You mean kind of like a social media campaign to spread awareness?mbawavefan12 wrote:We should put together a letter to send to all media members regarding Scott Cowen, Rick Dickson and the state of the university (particularly athletics and vs our peers). -------Guys beware of the Greeks bearing gifts on this----If the Advocate would take over, Tulane would become the Loyola of the paper---In Lafayette we have the Daily Advertiser which pushes UL to the max----The Morn Ad is trying hard but no doubt if they succeed in their ambitions, it is sure to become an LSU first Rag!!! Some in the area don't see this as the Morn AD gives UL top billing always, but the future to me would be entirely different!!!mbawavefan12 wrote:Sure restart that as well. Just inches short of actual English.exflash wrote:Guys beware of the Greeks bearing gifts on this----If the Advocate would take over, Tulane would become the Loyola of the paper---In Lafayette we have the Daily Advertiser which pushes UL to the max----The Morn Ad is trying hard but no doubt if they succeed in their ambitions, it is sure to become an LSU first Rag!!! Ex flash the only UL I know is the University of Louisville or the original and only University of Louisiana created by the Louisiana legislature, now Tulane University of Louisiana; then Tulane was added to the front of the name and it went private. I guess you are confused and thinking of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette ULL, formerly the University of Southwestern Louisiana and sister and companion school to the University of Louisiana at Monroe ULM.

And I can put on a New York Yankees jersey, but it doesn't make me a major league player. Just because your local paper falls for the scam doesn't make it real.exflash wrote:-----I guess that is why I read the Daily Advertiser as we are Louisiana or UL---This is what we have on our uniforms, Marquees, and other signage---Anyway don't let the green grass fool you ---- cause it will become very yellow!!!Jonathan wrote:Ex flash the only UL I know is the University of Louisville or the original and only University of Louisiana created by the Louisiana legislature, now Tulane University of Louisiana; then Tulane was added to the front of the name and it went private.
