Yea, let's give Dickson an extension for that quality work! I can hear the chants at the Wilson Center, We're not last, We're not last, We're not last ....tpstulane wrote:http://aacfootballfever.com/american-at ... cords.html

This meaningless ranking puts way too much emphasis on basketball. They count each basketball win, including those against non D1 teams, as much as a football win.
Regardless, we stink. Fire Dickson, Conroy and CJ.

+1
Averaging winning percentages would have been a better (yet still basketball biased) way of doing this incredibly unscientific ranking.

By Rick Dickson's logic, he finally has an athletic department fully recovered from Katrina that he can evaluate.
Maybe but it really didn't impact were we fell.DfromCT wrote:This meaningless ranking puts way too much emphasis on basketball. They count each basketball win, including those against non D1 teams, as much as a football win.

And once again, we smell up another conference. It will take year's to get the stench, that Cowen and Dickson has created, out of Tulane's reputation and performance.
Tulane is the University of Louisiana

RD has a job for life after building a 23K seat football stadium and Cowen will continue receiving $1MM/year bouquets from Tulane. Wins and losses don't matter.

It's not the fairest metric but it is clear that when you look at the combo of budgets, facilities, W/L, fanbase etc., Tulane is at the bottom of the AAC by a wide margin frankly. Now a university with a history of putting athletics on the back burner, is operating at a $20mm loss with a stadium that is far from being paid for............anyone believe that this will result in the increased budgets necessary to succeed in a competitive conference?
