First year complete. Give your impressions, good things bad things and suggested changes. PLEASE this is NOT a seating capacity or Dickson/Cowen bashing thread. Good, constructive criticism, praise and suggestions only. Remember TU reads GOTULA so here's your chance.

I thought the parking was handled well......didn't like the log jame trying to exit after the game due to the concourse being closed as the team's exit the field. Concessions pretty good...

I only attended the opening game, watched the rest on ESPN. Aside from seating capacity, I think the Stadium is well done. The press box is substandard, too low to the ground level. The biggest problem is getting bodies into the Club seats instead of the indoor cocktail party/Commanders Palace taking place in the Glazer Club. The best seats in the house are empty. It was that way every game. There should be an HD video board behind the North Endzone just like the one behind the South Endzone.

I wonder about the quality of the visitors locker room. Anyone have any ideas how it compares to other Stadiums?

I've only watched on TV, but I want (and not just for capacity) an upper deck on the east side. Can't have that it seems. Pride, aesthetics and camera angles.

My seats in the Westfeldt Terrace are great and better than the Glazer Club seats. But, last night I was invited by a friend into the Glazer Club and that is something special. Still, most stay in the club and never see their seats.

Overall, it's great to be among the elements and defeats the hollow dome.

On another note, the PA announcer has got to learn the correct pronunciations of former TU athletes and others that are presented during a game. Poor Brian Bogusevic....geeesh!

Overall I am pleased as it at least wasn't done on the cheap. Much better atmosphere than the dome. I park at Dominican and never had any issues with the shuttles. Would like more chairbacks. Also, need to figure out a way to get more people on the Glazer side. I don't buy that most of the club ticket holders stay inside. They are not attending the games.

the seats that are not used by Glazer Club snobs should be put up for sale

Overall my experience was good. Glazer Club, T-Club and WF Club were all good experiences. The security people were unfriendly in a few cases. Ex. Yesterday I was with a handicapped person and we were told we had to leave the stadium and walk around to enter the T-Club. The elevator from the WF club lets you off downstairs next to the media room which is connected to the T-Club. So instead of allowing us to walk 10 feet to get to the T-Club my handicapped guest and I were forced to leave the stadium and walk all the way around to re-enter the stadium just to get to the front entrance of the T-Club. We did this and weren't allowed back in because of our tickets were already scanned. I had extra tickets on me that I had to use to get back into the stadium. Stuff like that needs to be corrected. Once inside the T-Club you have to go through the media room anyway to use the restroom. The best part was that they had 5 security people and no media people in the room downstairs during the game when we wanted to walk through.

I suspect that you're correct about that.

Lit up a cigar on the quad in our tailgate, away from anyone who cared, and was told by a TU policeman I either had to put it out or be escorted off campus as a trespasser. Two times this season our tailgate was robbed after we went into the game. TU police did nothing. So to recap; TUPD can't or won't secure an area as small as the quad from pilferage but they become the gestapo if you have the audacity to light up a good smoke in a wide open space. "Smoke free campus" should be traded for "Theft free campus."

Standing in line at the port-o-let some Tulane students decided they were going to cut in front of everyone. They were not drunk. When I objected they acted as if they were entitled, "I pay tuition here..." One of the girls actually asked me if I ever "birthed a child," which I believe she thought meant that she could cut in line anytime she pleased, including in front of other women. I guess every student body has it's jerks. I seem to have the misfortune of running into quite a few of them on Tulane's campus.

And the stadium is a tiny little crap hole, which I believe the fire marshal included as part of his commentary in the addendum of one of his reports.

All in all its O K for D1 football. I gave up after 40 years of season tix but went back and got a group to buy 20 family north zone tix. Not again until Tulane gets a team worth watching and an AD who is believable. I know the first game was hot - but NO WATER- what dipstick screwed that up? The play on the field didn't make things any better. So--so long suckers. Life's too short to watch poop floating . Sell hard liquor - it may make it better. Get mannequins to fill the lazy asses who don't go to their seats. Tell them that Rex/Comus is meeting at half time on the 50 yard line. That may motivate them. They did give praise on the espn radio saying yulman is what UAB needed and said it was a model for college ball. Winning will make the stadium otherwise it will be as useful as a screen door on a submarine

I like the stadium and my seats.

Expand or add more concession stands
Leaving the stadium is hard with the teams crossing the concourse
I sit at the top of 119. There are no trash cans anywhere at the top. You have to go all the way downstairs to throw away something.

I love the stadium. Would love to add more seats but hard to argue that it is needed right now when you see the attendance on tv. Hopefully, one day we will fill this thing every game, but have put a more consistent performer out there. I think if we just have 2 winning seasons in a row, we will be ready for expansion. We also need to play a quality OOC schedule every year. Would love to see AAC and SEC teams at home every season.

Yeah, last night the announcer introduced Tulane President Mark Fitts.

I have a question...why the hell was the Glazier Club not put on the west side where height constraints were enforced... would that have allowed for more seating on the east side and better press box facilities on the west side ?

Because it was built into the Hertz Center.

If the Glazier club had been on the west side and "enclosed" as it is now, the NIMBY's would not have had a legal leg to stand on when it came to height variance

The small size ruins the atmosphere b/c those that want Tulane to become a top 25 program sit there and see the very low ceiling this tiny stadium puts on things. It certainly didn't create a home field advantage as we went 2-4. Last season we went 5-1 in the regular season at home in the Dome. Far too many there are just there for the social aspect. They could care less about what's going on on the field.

I can't remember which player but when they were showing highlights of the Tulane/Temple game from the 30s, he mispronounced a name. I only know because an older gent sitting behind me got perturbed about it

Besides the Pan American side of the stadium, I think everything else looks great. The parking situation was shockingly great. The atmosphere on opening day is something that I will never forget.

If we could just win games, things will be great at Yulman.

ESPN review of Yulman.... 1- They like the fact the "fans"(if they show up) are close to the field...2- they HATE the camera angles/elevation they are forced to use and this will be addressed with the AAC...3- They do not like the press box set up, the announcers are too low to the field and have poor sight line 4- They love the food provided !!...5- Parking is not an issue for members of the ESPN crew, they did not notice any real traffic issues 6- ESPN hates the "two toned" playing surface, it looks cheap and makes the field look choppy and the stadium smaller than what it actually is 7- ESPN cannot believe that a few families with homes next to the stadium, was able to dictate to Tulane, the design and height of the west side seats . The west side must be brought to a higher level above the field and the press box enlarged... ESPN will monitor the improvements or lack thereof...If no improvements are made ESPN will ask the AAC to allow Tulane home games to be televised on an ESPN station/outlet with limited viewing area (no national exposure) so that they can better utilize their experienced broadcast teams and crews at other venues ..8- The Tulane staff were always helpful and tried to make everyone as comfortable as possible 9- as noted prior, the "camera men" HATE the Yulman
vantage points they are forced to use, several have asked not to be assigned to Tulane home games in the future. My friend also thinks some "play by play" and "color analyst" have also asked not to be assigned until improvements are made

It's an OK facility IMO. Too small for real FBS football, but it is what it is.

All the best seats are on the East side of the stadium. The sight lines on the west side are poor in my opinion. It's just built too low to the ground.

The East side does look impressive even if there's no one sitting over there. Those seats NEED to be occupied, ESPECIALLY when Tulane is on television. There simply has to be a way to get regular fans into those seats even if they're already reserved.

Same things I have heard. And I agree 100% with all of ESPN's points. The two-toned field we got is not the same color as Houston. Ours looks like dead grass. That needs to be replaced or spray painted a shade of green not brown. The TV angle makes ESPN look bush league.

Hopefully in the future there will be a need to expand the place and the expansion will occur by double-decking the WEST side and improving the press area. We all know that will only occur if Tulane puts a consistent winner on the field, and the place is jammed packed each Saturday as a direct result of that situation.

The games are very hard to watch on TV. Something has to be done about this next year. I sit directly under the edge of the Upper Deck. Every game 4 or 5 drinks from up above fall in between the space of the upper deck and the boards connected to the upper deck and either explode upon impact, or drench some poor fool sitting there. I'm in the 11th row on the 5 yard line and its extremely hard for me to see anything happening on the other side of the 50 yard line.
