men's basketball suffers another dismal season

RD retires in April to serve a senior position within the university at the end of the school year.

In May, Danny White, UB athletics director, New Orleans native and son of former athletics director, Kevin White becomes new AD.

Danny hires his brother, current La. Tech head basketball coach, Michael White as new men's basketball coach.

It's a stretch…but stranger things have happened.

One of the most difficult responsibilities a CEO has is personnel. Is my employee a benefit to the enterprise ? Does my employee delegate properly ? Does my employee grow in job skills and develop talent ? Does my understand that he is accountable for his own actions ? Does my employee represent himself and my company well to our customers and to the general public ?
Does my employee act in a straight forward and open manner ? Does my employee allow others to disagree with him in a collegial manner for the greater benefit of the enterprise ?

The answer to each and every of these criteria as respect to Dickson is NO.

President Fitts, if you truly meant that ALL departments, athletics included, must score an EXCELLENT then you have no choice but to swallow hard and TERMINATE a 15 year employee for failure to perform.

The Whites should not be associated with Tulane. Their father jumped ship, the BBCoach son has expressed no interest in us, and the AD son is an unknown probably there because of his father's name and reputation.

The critical requirement is to terminate Ricky immediately to get a new AD in place whose first actions will include hiring a new FB staff in December, 2014 and a new MBB staff in April, 2015.

Because Walt Disney Companies own college athletics perhaps Tulane could persuade ESPN/ABC to hire a new AD, a new FB coaching staff, and a new MBB coaching staff.

We could then ask them to admit us into the BIG12.

And then, having taken an Alabama game from us several years ago, we should ask for that game back and a UCLA or Wisconsin game as 'damages'.

What sickness is it that affects Tulane fans that make them truly believe that Rick Dickson is literally entitled to indefinite and extremely well compensated employment despite his track record?

I'm aware of this. And again I ask for lawyers to explain whether this is enough to qualify as a breach of fiduciary duty by members of Tulane's Board. There's plenty of evidence to suggest Dickson isn't good at his job.

Kevin White and Chet Gladchuk were two of the best recent AD's Tulane had. They left to better their career and family to move up to a much higher conference school and better athletic program. We would all do the same. The only coaches that stay at Tulane are the losers that cannot recruit,win or get us to the NCAA or bowls like Conroy,Toledo,Scelfo,etc. Etc.

to us having a truly successful athletic program. Just the small numbers of people that post on the
forums demonstrates the lack of any real support for a strong athletics department. Has always
been that way. Not likely to see hundreds demonstrating in front of Dicksons house. He kisses up
and is pals with the money people who apparently are not as concerned with the few here that our athletic
performance, is at time, embarrassing!

Tulane has no athletic future unless and until Ricky is history, gone, fired, canned, kicked out the door, given a pink slip, told to pack his crap up and get the hell out of Wilson.
