and just thinking a bit, a SIGNIFICANT announcement must be made by the Administration PRIOR to the 2011 football season IF support is expected. Of course, it would be nice if the announcement was the stadium.

This administration has shown over and over that they don't care about people showing up. Attendance has been abysmal since Cowen got here and there has been absolutely nothing done about it. Nothing.

The game day experience (aka Dante's inferno) has been enhanced by the addition of a marching band (which any given high school managed to put together). But even that only occurred because he was embarrassed into doing it, as everyone probably recalls.

Beyond that? Bupkis.

Look for the same 'ol next season.

Don't hold your breadth! Have you not seen the handwriting "on the wall"? Have you not felt that slap to the face by the admin
in retaining that incompetent coach?

would be nice prior to 2011, but you are talking about Cowen & Dickson, the two least innovative people that Tulane has. They want to keep their small TU kingdom even smaller, because they can control it better (for themselves).

We would all like to see significant changes to the athletic dept occur in the near future, but why would those two do anything to initiate any level of change? The current status quo over at TU keeps them safe from the big and bad real world.

That is just the way it is and will be in the near future. The only way any significant change will occur will be the day that Cowen announces his retirement and forces Dickson to look for other opportunities.

Unless we can bring widespread awareness to their incompetence. Then things might move faster than you think.
