This was a message board post (re: the whole Miles thing) --one guys' opinion on Michigan's administration/athletic department.

I only wish Tulane was half of what Michigan is athletically--and Michigan is a great academic school.

But seriously, on a lot smaller scale, a lot of this fits Tulane to a "T" (pardon the pun.)

Coleman and Carr seem to have a paternalistic attitude towards the fan base at UM and appear to be in denial of the demands of today's college football programs.

First of all, this Ivy League envy leading them to believe they can get top coaching talent for $2 million or less just because they are Michigan is living in the past.

Secondly, the politics of the UM athletic dept having 'Bo' camps and 'Lloyd' camps is devisive to the point of shutting down the dept. They have an Athletic Director, why is Loyd Carr talking directly to the University President?

This is classic academic bureaucracy - a total lack of inclusiveness or teamwork. They look at all those sheepskins hanging on their walls and think that they don't need advice from anyone.

Before Michigan can find a football coach, they need to find some managers. Grown-up, adult managers.
