The Academic, or lack of, progress numbers
Wow. Surprised is right never thought I’d see us fall that far off the field.golfnut69 wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 5:35 am by conference...sum may be surprised

UCF now #12. Very impressive with the success they have on the field as well.
Be proactive, being reactive is for losers..

It's all that local recruiting that so many keep demanding. I couldn't care less where a kid comes from if he can play and be a good student. Stop harping on that local recruiting thing and get recruits from states with good school systems.

President Fitts , B of A , it's put up or forever hold your peace time . Make Tulane ATHLETICS relevant and top 30 again .
Except we don't have a ton of local recruits and we only have a couple of people that go on about local recruiting. But hey don't let the facts get in the way of always bashing the site.anEngineer wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 7:33 am It's all that local recruiting that so many keep demanding. This is totally disgusting to me. So now we are losing with below avg athletes and students. We are a joke of an athletic program.
Can we at least pick a lane either good athletes or good students and stick to it. Losing on the field and classroom with poor talent and academic ability is a complete failure on the part of the administration.

This. Tulane's local irrelevance has increased by leaps and bounds under the current staff given that the last three classes together had less than ~14 Louisiana players.winwave wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 8:41 amExcept we don't have a ton of local recruits and we only have a couple of people that go on about local recruiting. To the contrary, we will be a good football team in 2019, probably our best football team since 1998.Jaxwave wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 9:45 am This is totally disgusting to me. So now we are losing with below avg athletes and students. We are a joke of an athletic program.

I don’t ever recall it beings this low. I’m sure Fitts isn’t going to be happy with this trend.Aberzombie1892 wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 12:53 pm Well, there is without a doubt that Tulane is trending down.

Very understandable that our "trend" could be downward--much more challenging to stay in school at Tulane. That, combined with our hopeful improvement on the field, will likely lower our APR trend. Of course the APR is as relevant as ranking each school's engineering, poli sci, or anthropology majors by how fast they run the 40, and how much they can bench press.

I agree that it is challenging, but it raises two things:HoustonWave wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 1:35 pm Very understandable that our "trend" could be downward--much more challenging to stay in school at Tulane. 1. Tulane cannot let it fall into the low 930s, as that is when penalties kick in and
2. Tulane will likely never be able to get a 5-7 team into a bowl game due to low(er) APR scores.
Neither may be likely, but it's something to keep an eye on.
