Other than Daniels the freshman and sophomores don't offer much promise of a better future. They just don't. Dannen has to be able to see through that. If not he has to go too.

MD has proven that it makes no difference the talent on the court. He could have 2 NBA prospects and still guide us to the bottom of the conference...oh wait, he's done that.

All said, he now has us going in the right direction. The 30 pt loss to Cincy jumped us into the top 300 in RPI. Sitting pretty at 299.

If you listen to the radio broadcast (1280-New Orleans or iHeart streaming), Graf always has Coach D on the air for about 5 minutes post-game. He also does a 10-15 min segment pregame.
Thank you for that information.

Tulane Football's twitter account always broadcasts Fritz's remarks. Odd that there's not some uniformity in how these things are done.

So what did Coach have to day about the game?
I only listened to the first couple of minutes. He remarked that we opened up playing well and making shots. He also said that Cincy's shooting was off-the-charts-good for the first few minutes of the game. I'm confident that nothing we wanted to hear was said thereafter. I made a recent post stating my wish that Dunleavy would emote during these post-game interviews. Show frustration. Anger. Disappointment. Commitment to improving. Anything to indicate that he was dissatisfied with the performance. What we've heard has been vanilla mush. It's the typical NBA talking points: lose and say little; win and say even less.
In the NBA, coaches are just window dressing--hence they have little to say about anything. Dunleavy thinks he's coaching in the NBA. Just send five players onto the court and let them do whatever they want--no need to say anything before or after a game. If he thinks the direction of the Cincy game was set by good Cincy shooting, then he's in total denial about what is going on. Our inability to run any offense, or play any defense, is why we got destroyed once again. The athleticism of the two teams wasn't that different--the difference was entirely in the coaching.

We have now seen that Fritz has the courage to make a coaching change when it's needed. Now it's time for Dannen to show the same courage. Dannen needs to admit his MD mistake and fix it--now.

ECU beat Cincy today 73-71. So those two conference wins we were counting on might not be so easy.
