Navy had lost 7 in a row until beating Tulsa yesterday @ Annapolis. Suddenly, this game is now much more interesting than any of us thought it would be?
The ESPN Matchup predictor gives us a 76.3% chance of winning. http://www.espn.com/college-football/ga ... /401019539 Yet, over the years we have been terrible against the service academies. I still remember October 4, 2008 at Tad Gormley Stadium, City Park, we were a big favorite for homecoming against Army but were humiliated that day by the Cadets 44-13. My friends and I left in the third quarter and went instead to Kiddieland, a trip down memory lane far more entertaining than the lopsided contest.. After the game "Buffet Bob" Toledo offered every excuse in the universe for the loss including poor sight lines from the Gormley press box to the field.
I think a very disciplined Navy team will be up for this game. Losing both the game and bowl eligibility on Saturday will be a Hell of a way to end this season. This game is another big test for WF and his staff.
Line Closing Wave 6 pts. > Navy

While not necessarily a rivalry game, for the Wave, this is the time of year when what should be easy-to-win games get really scary.
Those with losing records often play with reckless abandon and for pride while those with the better record, and perhaps more games ahead of them, often play not to lose. More often than not, that's a recipe for disaster.

ajcalhoun: Nobody here gives a flying fuck about UL-L and the Sunbelt Conference.

Service Acadamies don’t usually roll over and play dead. It’s not in their psyche. Are we more talented? Yes, but that doesn’t win the game. We’ve effed up more times than Cowdick did something stupid. Well—-maybe not that many—but close. SINK NAVY!

I must have you confused with someone else. I was sure you told me you were in the "don't care" crowd.Wave755 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 18, 2018 6:05 pmBy the way Cajun, UL-M opens 4 pts. > ULALA.cajunfanatico wrote: ↑Sun Nov 18, 2018 5:57 pm While not necessarily a rivalry game, for the Wave, this is the time of year when what should be easy-to-win games get really scary.
