VERY disappointed if this team doesn’t take out its frustrations (and those of last year) this week:

True, but this year their road loses were to North Texas, Michigan & UCF?

Good point. I hadn’t checked their schedule. Still think we should roll.

+1, also looking for the Wave to roll on Saturday. We are a very different and much better team @ Yulman. And, I am sure we want revenge against these guys after last year when we allegedly came up an inch short of winning.

This. All of their losses are "good" losses by midlevel and below G5 standards, which makes them not unlike Tulane (Michigan, North Texas, and UCF versus Ohio State, Wake Forest, Cincinnati and UAB). As a result, one could say it should be a wash, and, if it is a wash, one would hope that Tulane could win by 3 since it's the home team.

Win in OT:

Having watched SMU play a couple of times I would say at our best and their best we are 7-10 points better. Having watched us play all season, I would say I have no clue what Tulane team and to be honest what Tulane coaching staff will show up. I’ll with the Wave 28-24 in a poorly played game on both sides.

not sure if either team, can stop the other's Offense, but I trust Sonny's O more than Willies

Sonny's Buddies 34
Willie & Friends 10...
.Tulane will do a better job of stopping itself

Interesting stat. SMU has won the last 3 in a row. And 6 of the last 7. The one Tulane win was by one point 27-26.
Matt Forte ran for 342 yards vs SMU still a record.

I think we have that same 70-30 balanced offense that we attacked Memphis with. Banks plays most of the game, and our D is in that number all afternoon. We rush for close to 300 yards and pass for 175 and 2 TDs.

Tulane wins:

D and I agree again. The staff remembers our best game plan of the year so we come out balanced. We throw to our RB's again and this time we finally get it out in space to Amare Jones. Then when we have the game under our control we run it 17 straight times to end the game just like we did against Memphis.

What I don’t get is most of you predicted that we will win about 6 games. But with exception of OSU, you pick Tulane to win.

I checked the thread where we made our preseason W-L predictions and everyone who detailed their wins and losses predicted a win over SMU. What's not to get?

With this Tulane team, where you have no idea what your going to get from week to week, all preseason expectations are out the door. Everybody probably predicted a win over UAB, and far fewer expected a win over Memphis. Being the masters of inconsistency, forecasting a Tulane score is a journey into the unknown.
