Honestly, the AAC West this year doesn’t look that good outside of Houston, so that may be good for Tulane.

There are two short term goals for Tulane:

1. Reaching a bowl and
2. Fielding a good football team

Defeating an overrated Memphis team was a step in the right direction for a bowl, but Tulane’s losses to a Wake Forest team that just fired its DC in season and to a UAB team that didn’t play football two seasons ago indicate that it’s still not good.
I don't truly think you can equate UAB to other schools in their second year of football. They had the coach, And they were able to bring in lots of P5 transfers with promises of playing time. This isn't like they started off fielding an all freshman/sophomore team.
I agree to a certain extent, but it’s not like 2017 UAB didn’t lose to programs like Ball State, Ohio, and Charlotte. 2018 UAB has already lost to Coastal Carolina, and it’s unlikely that they won’t see a few more losses. Basically, UAB was decent, but it hasn’t been shown to be particularly good by G5 standards.

I've never been so glad to be so wrong about a game. It looked like a different Tulane team, from the one that showed up in Birmingham. We controlled both lines of scrimmage, and won. McMillan can make our offense click.

Memphis thought that the game was on Saturday night, or the two teams exchanged uniforms before the game started. Who in Hades were those guys?

zombie that can't be. Some genius here said Wake was going to win the ACC. Must have been off his meds again.

Right. UAB is not a good football team. At best they are average.

Great game!! It was a surreal experience in an awesome way to watch Tulane put the beat down on Memphis like that. I will definitely give Coach Fritz and his staff props on having the team ready to play. Obviously we need to keep the momentum going. Going forward I’ll be watching whether or not Tulane plays consistently well or if there is inconsistent play with a lot of ups and downs.

Not denying that. But everyone's talking like they're Xavier of New Orleans deciding to play football and being in their second year. No comparison.

I don't think anyone is talking like that about them. I think people have looked at their schedule last year and took that into account.
