Thanks golf. That's great news. We knew it was going to happen. Glad it's been finalized.

Keon Howard's video looks very good. Even though he is a dual threat qb, the majority of his highlights are pass plays. Hope he can be the backup we need for JB and is ready to play next season!
Keon's road to Tulane intersects with former Tulane commit and Mississippi HS player of the year, Jack Abraham. Abraham changed his commitment to LaTech when CJ was fired and Willie Fritz was brought in with the reputation of being a run-first coach. After one year at La Tech, Abraham transferred to MS Northwest Community College where he had an outstanding year. From there, he transferred to USM. Keon Howard played two years at USM but decided to transfer after realizing his playing time would be limited competing against Abraham.

He won't be eligible to be Banks' backup. He'll compete for the starting job in 2019 after sitting out a year.GreenLantern wrote: ↑Thu Aug 02, 2018 4:52 pm Keon Howard's video looks very good. Similar path Banks took to get here. Similar high school rating. Similar knocks as Banks had coming in. Hopefully he experiences the same landing spot as JB. Honestly, until WF can COMPLETELY squash the “triple option” perception, this is the best strategy for QB recruiting. Let the big boys do the leg work and reel em in later. (Not that USM is a big boy but they definitely beat out some for this kid)
Looks a lot like Banks on film.galvezwave wrote: ↑Fri Aug 03, 2018 12:40 pm Similar path Banks took to get here. Similar high school rating. Similar knocks as Banks had coming in. Keon didn't light it up, nor did he mess it up at USM. His highlight films show some big plays, and a lot of wide open receivers. I'm happy he's at Tulane, where, with two years eligibility starting next year, he's going to be a QB with 10 starts at the FBS level under his belt, and at that point 3 years in FBS football programs.
He:started seven games as a Sophomore. His stats per start look like this: 13/24 for 171 yards. 54% completion rate and 1.1 TDs and .71 ints. .71 fumbles lost. IMHO, that's mediocre. His turnover rate of 1.4/game (combining FL and INT) is a little alarming.

That was sort of my point comparing him to banks. His JC stats were mediocre at best. And by all accounts looked like ass in the 2017 fall camp. I think Fritz is basically looking for the tools. He and his staff handle the rest . My take anyway, what do I know ? LolDfromCT wrote: ↑Thu Aug 23, 2018 5:41 pm Keon didn't light it up, nor did he mess it up at USM. Well at least Howard has FBS stats to go by. I do think he can be coached up and has speed and a decent arm, which I think are the most important tools in this offense. If his ball protection improves he could be a really good player for us.galvezwave wrote: ↑Thu Aug 23, 2018 5:56 pm
