LSU's Reveille makes no mention of our Wednesday night 10 to 9 win over the Tiggers.

Positively LSU, no class act from A to Z. Even the loss of a baseball game to Louisiana's premier university must be denied.

http://www.lsunow.com/daily/sports/
Can you blame a top 25 team for not bringing up a mid-week loss to a rival that's not in their conference? Really? And for what it's worth (and it's worth a whole lot more than the game Weds night) Reveille doesn't have an article about the last two games of their weekend series last weekend against Tennessee. There's a whole lot more important things to complain about LSU. And by the way, we're the premier PRIVATE university in the state. The best academic one as well. That and a ticket will get you into a sports event (in other words it means NOTHING when talking about college sports. NOTHING.)

C'mon man!
Hmm, check and see, they had an article for their mid-week win over us on March 21st? http://www.lsunow.com/daily/photos-lsu- ... 68da1.html

http://www.lsunow.com/daily/lsu-basebal ... 65c41.html

And, I know this might be a sore point with you, but this year, unlike last they failed to report Louisiana's bar results, including Tulane's stella 91.07% bar pass rate? But, perhaps you are right and such an "august" publication as the LSU Reveille no longer has time for such things as LSU mid-week college baseball and Louisiana law school bar results? :P  :-D
It's not a sore point. It's a WHO GIVES A CRAP? It has NOTHING to do with sports, which is about winning and losing on the field/court/gridiron. WHO CARES? Not me, or 99.99999% of people that consider themselves sports fans. We could be the #1 law school, #1 national university, AND #1 in each discipline we offer degrees. It would still be meaningless when talking sports.
My original point was how classless it is for the LSU Reveille to have reported their Wednesday night March 21st win over Tulane including 28 photos, not one showing a Tulane player, and then make no mention whatsoever of such a dramatic game as Tulane's 10 to 9 win over LSU on Wednesday night at Turchin. But then, afterall, we are dealing with LSWho, aren't we?

Sad thing most of all is that this is the first Tulane / LSU game that was not televised in many many years. It’s too bad because we won again and the media can bury it. Had it been on TV at least a few 10 thousand or so more fans including recruits would know about it. I guess the Tulane baseball product is now of little or no value to media in general including TV media.

According to LSU Beat writer Luke Johnson, it was Tulane’s decision not to have it televised. CST offered to carry it but Tulane declined.

Then what the Hell was Troy Dannen thinking? Needless to say, the jury is still very much out on this guy as our A D.

WinWave, what do your sources say about this for CST carrying the game?

Are you serious? Dannen is going to kill baseball. Tulane needs all the publicity and TV exposure it can get. Why turn it down? We couldn’t pay to get that exposure. Poor Jewett he has no support from his AD.

Tnelly, give us a link. If true Dannen needs to answer for his decision for no CST coverage for the game. And I assure you, even with Tulane having a second straight down season, many more than 10,000 people would have watched the game and; in particular, Louisiana high school ball players.

Smalltime thinker from Northern Iowa. No clue on Tulane: LSU baseball history.
Would Dannen turn down Tulane LSU basketball TV or Tulane LSU football TV? Hell no. Only baseball.

Tulane turned down TV
http://www.nola.com/tulane/index.ssf/20 ... _2018.html
Jana Woodson, the associate athletic director for external affairs for Tulane, said Cox Sports offered to televise the game this year but Tulane kept the broadcast for its in-house video streaming service.

Woodson said Tulane holds the rights for home games in all sports.

"We chose to have it on our streaming provider as we've done with the rest of our home games," Woodson said.

There you have it. I still feel strongly that Dannen is a HUGE step up from his predecessor, but at the same time he needs to get the message that exposure is like advertising. Even if we got ZERO money from the TV coverage, it's free exposure, which our programs so desperately need. We might have made $6 or 7K in PPV buyers, that pales in comparison to the exposure we could have had.

I deleted my post because it was revealed to me that the LSU beat reporter was right (as TPS's post confirms). I was wrong, but I still think Dannen is a much better AD than we've had since Sandy Barbour was ours.

And, apparently Dannen’s desire to make money off of LSU fans for the streaming service outweighed for him the great exposure we would have gotten for a CST broadcast. :shakingno:

I was ripping LSU all week for not putting the game on TV. Shame on me and apologies to LSU for my mistake. Mr. Dannon, what are you thinking? At this point in time for our Baseball Program, exposure is much more important than the dollars you thought you may have made. We need EXPOSURE....heck we could have got the attention of a few recruits this past week....we need all the leverage we can get,,,

Not a good move, especially during Football Season Tix renewal....btw, kept my 5..thought about reducing, but kept them.

Yes I posted that link below at 7:47pm yesterday
I was told by someone that has recorded every TU v LSU game that it was the first time in about 20 years that it wasn’t televised. Sad because our stadium looks great on TV and we won the game. Just a summation but in the future Cox probably won’t ask us again. I just watched Friday Night Baseball and Delgado HC Joe S said he was thrilled that Cox televised the first ever Delgado TV baseball game recently. He said it was great free exposure for his product and he got a lot on new fans because of it. He said Cox plans on televising a few more Delgado games next season now. Once again Tulane continues to be its own worst enemy. And we wonder why the media ignores us.

Actually the game in BR wasn't televised either. Had to go on-line to watch it. The article touched on the reasons why that one may not have been. As for ours it's just another in a long line of classic fuckups. The names change but the poor decisions just continue on.

Yes. But they have an ESPN rights deal for all their baseball home games. Unfortunately we don’t have that luxury.

That's what I was referring to when I said the article gave the reasons their game wasn't on TV. We don't have that luxury and therefore it's just another classic fuckup.

In the big scheme of things, this is not nearly as big a deal as it's being turned into in this thread. This isn't Cowen going behind Sandy Barbour's back and hiring Scelfo, or some of the other bone-headed faux pas that continue to haunt Tulane fans. Yes, it's shooting ourselves in the foot once again. But will be long forgotten shortly (unless it takes on a Tanner Lee type life of it's own.)

I think most would disagree with your take. This is Tulane v. LSU. It's always a meaningful game. A lot of our disengaged fans will tune in. Then throw in the fact thar it may cost us the series in the future and it's a big deal.

Yep. The only LSU game their fans couldn’t get free access to until one of their fans streamed it free on YouTube anyway.
