Well, it didn’t count, but we did beat them. Maybe we really are the better team (relative to LSU).tpstulane wrote:Good to see us higher than LSU who’s at 118.Robert1969 wrote:Tulane RPI: #66 according to NCAA.com

Although they were playing without their two leading players. Do you want to play them without Fraiser and Ona-Embo? It was a scrimmage, nothing more.Robert1969 wrote:Well, it didn’t count, but we did beat them. I'd like to play them full strength. Maybe an NIT match up in the SKC?

LSU played Houston and Memphis but not Tulane, it’s really disgraceful when u consider the history between the two schools. I can see avoiding TU in Football, for a variety of reasons, but not in Bball. I guess u can argue TU poor recent performance in Bball could be the culprit but TD needs to get on the phone and tell them we are serious.Robert1969 wrote:Well, it didn’t count, but we did beat them. OK, so neither team was at full strength for that exhibition game. Both teams are playing better than expected. I'd love to play the Tigers, and it's shameful that we don't.

Hopefully we continue to play good and the pressure mounts for us to start playing again every year.

Yeah, exactly. “We didn’t have so and so playing...” is such an overemphasized point by losing teams.winwave wrote:D- we didn't have Ona - Embo in that game.DfromCT wrote:Although they were playing without their two leading players. In 1982, the year after Dale Brown took Tulane off the LSU schedule, (his argument was that LSU had nothing to gain by beating Tulane) the NIT sent Tulane to the Assembly Center. As the LSU crowd was leaving in the final minute, my best friend and I (we were just a few Tulane fans in the building) were running up and down the aisles shouting "DALE BROWN SUCKS". The Tiger faithful didn't appreciate it, but it was one of many memorable moments of my undergraduate years. Or should I say one of the few that I remember clearly?
