Big Mike has extended an offer to your leaders to attend our GB meeting this Thursday or one in the future to discuss ideas to help out you guys. We meet every 8 pm on Thursday at Sports Beat on Ridgelake in Metairie. Just come out and introduce yourselves. Mike and others will be glad to show you guys "the ropes". Just give me a heads up when you guys can come out and I'll pass it on to the rest of our club.

NEXT Thursday we actually have our launch party at Roberts Bar next to Turchin Stadium. Yall are invited to attend :)

Get a meeting with CJ and ask what you can do for the program from a fundraising/PR standpoint. I know the Greenbackers at the beginning had a great relationship with Vince Gibson and Mack Brown (not so much English). Schedule a meeting every Wed or Thurs or Once a Month and make sure you have a Coach of some sort to speak at that meeting. Recruit UNO/Loyola students b/c you are going to need people residing in the Metro area to stay alive and grow. Get everyone in the group to get tickets in the same section in the new stadium. In today's Tulane Athletic Department I wouldn't be worried about being recognized by the Athletic Department itself. I would go to the actual Head Coaches of the 3 main sports and ask what you can do specifically to help those programs. Personally, I would go to the football coaches and focus my energies on that program b/c as that program goes so goes Tulane Athletics. Got 1000 ideas, but that's how you start. Have a consistent meeting with good speakers and get involved in the program by asking what the coaches need. I would also suggest at least 1 road trip per year, a yearly party at a bar, a yearly outdoor party, etc. Develop traditions.

As to the colors I read in a book about Tulane athletics,I think it's the one penned by tps' father, that one of the school presidents' wife at Tulane chose the colors b/c then everyday when you looked outside it would be a Tulane day. Makes more sense as the other stories center on just green for Tulane and not the blue.

Warm n fuzzy reason! It's why I always feel like I'm at home even when in Idaho. Though I do like to think of LSU owing their colors to us from picking up ribbon store scraps ;D

August 16th A Greenie in Black and Gold: Ryan Griffin's Anticipated NFL Debut, GSAPC Tailgate
August 24th GSAPC Pub Crawl and raffle fundraiser (we need Tulane swag and items for the raffle so if you can help us out with donations, buying raffle tickets, or stuff to put in prizes, OR to join us! please let me know)

August 31st we might fix up the Tulane mural on I10 for Tulane Outreach. It looks dilapidated. Need volunteers and supplies! Remember we're only 20 somethings! Our stuff is broken.

More August events!

Aug 16th- Support Ryan Griffin by attending the Saints preseason game vs. the Oakland Raiders sporting both Saints and Tulane gear. Join the GSAPC as we tailgate and get raucous for the occasion.

Aug 29th- Jackson State and Tulane kick off their seasons at the dome for a weekday night game. Instead of our typical tailgate, we've rented out WalkOns upstairs (yes its LSU owned, sorry bout it!). For $30 you get an open bar with premium beer n wine, + food. We've partnered with the New Orleans Alumni and we need your support. Worked very hard to put this together! :)

Other events still being worked on:
Aug 24th Magazine st pub crawl
Aug 31st mural work (?) sheriff's dept is dragging their feet so we may need to postpone the event despite having the $ and manpower locked down
