Up until recently (prior to Wichita St joining) only one school in the AAC has appeared in the CWS and that was Tulane in 2001 and 2005.
It would benefit the conference greatly if we could send a few more to Omaha. I for one am looking forward to baseball after this disaster of a basketball season.
AAC Opening Day only Tulane and WSU have been to the CWS

That surprised me. I thought ECU had been there once before.tpstulane wrote: ↑Fri Feb 15, 2019 11:59 am Up until recently (prior to Wichita St joining) only one school in the AAC has appeared in the CWS and that was Tulane in 2001 and 2005.

UConn and Houston have made the CWS as well. Like WSU is was at a time when the tourney was regionally based.galvezwave wrote: ↑Fri Feb 15, 2019 1:31 pmI was surprised Houston has never beenanEngineer wrote: ↑Fri Feb 15, 2019 1:28 pmThat surprised me. WSU went in 1993 when it was the same format as currently used; 8 super-regional winners go to the CWS. The Shockers finished 2nd at the CWS that year. Between 1980 and 2013 they went to the NCAA tournament 28 times (in 34 years!) I don't think they ever won a CWS, but were runner up 3 or 4 times.mbawavefan12 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 15, 2019 1:46 pmUConn and Houston have made the CWS as well. UConn has been to the tournament 20 times and the CWS 5 times. ECU has not been in the CWS, and I'm not sure about Houston.

It was 1999 tmk. WSU has a great history and has always had great attendance. I remember them being an early adopter of playing on turf. As a youngster we took trips to see the dominant Maine program in Orono. They would serve $1 stuffed lobster rolls.DfromCT wrote: ↑Fri Feb 15, 2019 1:55 pmWSU went in 1993 when it was the same format as currently used; 8 super-regional winners go to the CWS. It's funny, but few on this realize how dominant that U of Maine program was for a good long while. There was a stretch where the Black Bears made the CWS 5 of 6 years in the 80's.

Melvin Frazier with a first pitch that I hope wasn't coached by Latham!!!
I'm really looking forward to an improved Tulane baseball team, and an excuse to forget about how bad Tulane basketball is! I think the only person rooting harder for Tulane baseball than we die-hards is Troy Dannen. Huge burden off of him if this team can get to a regional. BIG BULLSEYE on Dannen if the team isn't much improved, especially in light of the dumpster fire in Fogelman.
