1. Memphis lost its OC prior to the bowl with its DC annoucing before the bowl that he was leaving.
2. USF lost its OC prior to the bowl.
3. Temple lost its HC and staff before the bowl.
4. Houston has its own problems (i.e. Applewhite should never have been coach), but it’s OC left right after the game.
It’s not as straightforward as some make it out to be.
And on the flip side, Auburn fires their OC and put up 56 in the first half.

Another disastrous bowl season for Aresco’s handpicked line up. In deciding which AAC teams should go to which bowls, Aresco should put more emphasis on each team’s injuries and coaching situations UCF definitely should be playing in their bowl, given their undefeated status. But UH hasn’t been the same team without King at QB. And when did Aresco know that Temple wasn’t going to have a coaching staff? And USF has been in a tail spin since we beat them. Aresco must just be looking at each team’s record, and not what their specific situations are going into the bowl games. The Army beat down of UH was easy to predict given UH’s QB and D line situations. The USF program has been in chaos during the entire last half of the season. A team’s momentum matters.

We'd have been a better matchup for Marshall or Army than USF or Houston were. Both teams are run heavy, and we're a solid run defense team.HoustonWave wrote: ↑Sat Dec 29, 2018 9:22 amAnother disastrous bowl season for Aresco’s handpicked line up. Just as a matter of principle, I would prefer to NEVER be on the same field/court/swimming pool as anyone representing Marshall. I don't know how they can manage to be so low-class at everything athletic, but they seem to pull it off easily.RobertM320 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 29, 2018 1:01 pmWe'd have been a better matchup for Marshall or Army than USF or Houston were. Final from PlayStation Fiesta Bowl:
LSU 40
UCF 32
Joe Burrow had the best game of his career @ LSU passing for 394 yards and 4 TDs. UCF wide receivers dropped 2 sure TD passes. UCF rushed for 130 yards, passed for 120 yards. LSU won the game at the line of scrimmage, but who knows how UCF would have done if their qb McKenzie Milton hadn’t been injured? But, as expected, LSU’s down lineman were a cut above those of UCF.
Yet, is UCF as good as ND? ND made the playoff?

Everyone points to the fact that LSU was playing their backups on defense. Have we forgotten that those backups are still 4 and 5 star players? When Alabama had Tua go out, he was replaced by Jalen Hurts. Big difference between that and UCF going from Milton to Mack. In fact, Mack was rated lower than Lindsey Scott when he was recruited. And Scott can't even see the field at Missouri. Another example, LSU RB Nick Brossette. He sat behind Fournette and Derrius Guice. Doesn't diminish his abilities.

And, Burrow was just plain outstanding today for LSU.RobertM320 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 01, 2019 7:14 pm Everyone points to the fact that LSU was playing their backups on defense. Milton should have been mentioned in more robust heisman conversations. Furthermore Their entire team’s mentality & scheme were derived from him. So 1) unless those guys at LSU were in a Heisman conversation and 2) Were the lynchpin that their defense & team was built around I don’t equate Milton =LSU’s missing players.
