ECU will be one of the 16 host sites for a regional. Congratulations to the Pirates!

Well deserved. And congrats to David Pierce. Hosting a Regional in only his 2nd season at Texas.

And how does Texas get a host over USF, 22 rpi vs 17 rpi?
Happy for DP but don’t underestimate the cache of Texas.

Big 12 Regular Season Champ.

I thought UCONN got hosed out of a host site. They were deserving with a #16 RPI
AAC probably get 3 teams in. ECU, UCONN and USF for sure. Maybe Houston at #45 since they won the regular season.

I’d agree. But they went with the minor league park.
UConn submitted a bid to host at Dodd Stadium in Norwich and made its case for a top seed with a 35-20-1 record against a difficult schedule. The American Athletic Conference had the fourth highest conference RPI, with three teams in the top 20, and UConn finished 14-10 in the regualar season, then won three conference tournament games before losing the final to East Carolina. Among UConn’s quality road wins was one at Coastal Carolina.
They getting a new stadium as well:
