in Louisiana FB recruiting, according to XM Radio The First Team. 25 minutes ago they agreed with Coach Steve Spurrier that the best FB coaching job in the SEC is LSU, because, as Spurrier said, there is absolutely no MEANINGFUL in state competition for Louisiana's great high school players.
The First Team took it one step further by saying LSU was the best FB coaching job in the U.S. because it has ABSOLUTELY NO in state competition.
This is how we are recruited against; recruits are told we are irrelevant and always will be. Out of state games against big name competition, even if there are no return visits to New Orleans are essential for us. We must build our brand recognition; as, for example, Boise State went from unheard of to top shelf credible.

By posting on the Tulane board this is a Tulane thread that deserves to be in The Huddle for broadest readership and discussion.

Why are you knocking Tulane and lauding LSU A&M on this Tulane website Jonathan? Tulane is by far the top academic university in Louisiana and ranked 41 in the nation. LSU is far below. Why do you go to a great university for a top education like Tulane or to play football at LSU and then later bag groceries at Rouses?

I am not knocking us Pete; I am pointing out how the rest of the college football world perceives us, and how we are ineffective at recruiting top talent at this time because of these perceptions and our woefully inadequate facilities.

This thread's appropriate place is The Huddle so that a full discussion of our perception problems can be discussed as thoroughly as our facility problems and mistakes have been.
