LSU, UNO, Loyola, ULL, ULM, Louisiana Tech, Southeastern, Delgado, Northwestern, McNeese, Nicholls St., Southern, Grambling, Centenary, Dilliard, Xavier, etc.

True. Also rightly or wrongly many LSU grads view it as a "public" responsibility to fund the University like the governments do for public K-12 schools. They can use taxes, lottery proceeds or whatever. Just don't expect me to pay. "I'm not bailing out the Legislature!"

Then for every rule there is an exception like the Tiger Athletic Foundation.

I would be curious though to see what UT/A&M endowments look like without the oil fund money. What are their alum contributions?
