He was canned cause he stunk and committed a violation by trying to remove/reduce scholarships. P5 passed a rule that athletes cannot have their scholarship reduced or eliminated based on play. Incidentally that does not exist for non-P5 schools.Pepper wrote:If we had nuts, we'd follow suit and end this sh*t show now.
No chance TU eats CJ's salary nor does our AD give up on his first baseball hire after one year. There are legit excuses regarding the inherited pitching depth.
There are no excuses for the poor play at the plate and in the field. Sorry but the guy is not HC material. The body language of our players shows it all. Everyone makes mistakes in hiring coaches. Good programs admit it and move on before it becomes a major rebuilding job.mbawavefan12 wrote:He was canned cause he stunk and committed a violation by trying to remove/reduce scholarships. Pepper... I do not look for Tulane to make a change for two reasons...First, and most important TD would have to admit to making a mistake and his ego is not going to allow that to happen...Second, Tulane does not have the money for a buy out !!!Pepper wrote:There are no excuses for the poor play at the plate and in the field. I have been on record that I don't like his coaching style and feel this might be a huge mistake. My comment on excuses is that he can sell it to Dannen and the rest of the admin as to why we did not succeed, it came out wrong.Pepper wrote:There are no excuses for the poor play at the plate and in the field. Then the regular moaners can complain incessantly about the football program, the idiot coach, the rotten stadium, the stupid play calling, the coaches we should have hired, the players we should have signed...golfnut69 wrote:look on the bright side...only 100 days until kick-off !!!!

If he were to get hired away someplace else, we wouldn't have to buy him out, and TD wouldn't have to admit he made a wrong choice. What we don't want to hear is that he's been given a raise to stay.Pepper wrote:There are no excuses for the poor play at the plate and in the field. Sorry but the guy is not HC material. Nothing to lament about Kingston - we got Pierce.tpstulane wrote:Just got word. Mark Kingston top of the list.tnelly15 wrote:Alabama job open too. Goff fired after 1 season

As for how we got Jewitt, I have no idea.
As for legit excuses, there always are.....
That's a mighty big "if" you have there, considering what he has shown.RobertM320 wrote: If he were to get hired away someplace else, we wouldn't have to buy him out, and TD wouldn't have to admit he made a wrong choice.
God Bless Everyone!
