Figured it may make more sense to just have an open thread covering all the other regionals.
UConn just knocked out the GaTech starter in the second inning of their game in Gainesville. Its 7-0, UConn, B2.

Damn, UConn didn't start Anthony Kay! They started freshman Tim Cate. Now they have Anthony Kay ready for a likely second game matchup vs #1 Florida.

Anyone got updates on what's going on in Baton Rouge? Has it been raining all day? SELA and Rice are still delayed, and that's their first game, which was supposed to be played last night. What's the outlook there?
I think the Lafayette Regional is still in delay as well. If they'd picked us to host instead of ULaLa, they wouldn't be having this problem.

ECU just got a 3 run walk off HR to cap a 5 run ninth, and beat #1 seed Virginia 8-6. Go AAC!

I have been on a roller coaster all day and weekend. I think we can now come out of the losers bracket after the Ole Miss close win to defeat the third and fourth seeds to win the regional with our pitching depth. Tulane must get our hitters going with many home runs and scoring to win. Roll Green Wave.
Our team never surrenders. There is so much fight on these guys. Boston College will be a rough to deal with.Jonathan wrote:I have been on a roller coaster all day and weekend. Wow! Bottom of the 9th in Miami, Long Beach State gets a two strike pinch-hit HR from a .095 hitter (2-21 for season) to tie the game at 3-3! They go to the tenth. Lets go Dirtbags!

Just a question. Does anyone else find themselves constantly pulling for the underdogs in games? I'm going through the current games on ESPN3 and I find myself pulling for Western Carolina against Clemson, William and Mary against Virginia, Rhode Island against South Carolina and Wright State against Ohio State. Am I the only one?

ECU up 8-4 through 7. Just went into a weather delay due to lightning. Six outs away from going to the Super Regional. They're paired up with national seed Texas Tech.

And its raining AGAIN in Baton Rouge. NCAA should tell them to put field turf in, or no more regionals.

Random thought: If Long Beach State happens to knock off Miami, I wonder who's going to get to host that Super Regional? Boston College or Long Beach State? Both are #3 seeds. Would it be LBSU because they beat the national seed?

Wow! Arizona head coach must be crazy. His #1 pitcher (Nathan Bannister) threw 95 innings Friday in first game of ULL regional, then had him throw 7 innings, 102 pitches today, in a DAY game, in 90+ degree temps. 197 pitches in 66 hours.
