New Rutgers HC Chris Ash wants everything changed at his underperforming school, from the rusty ice machine in the lockerroom to athletes dorms. I hope Fritz is approaching the job the same way.

Very good article. Two more parts coming soon.
Here's two points I took from this that can apply directly to us:
1.
2.
He also talks about fundraising. Rutgers doesn't get their full share of B1G money until 2021, and he said they can't wait that long, so he's helping with fundraising for what's needed.
Overall, it seems like Rutgers and Tulane have similar visions.

Even though we don't have the biggest or best in everything, we can try and have the best of something, whether it be meeting rooms, athlete dorms, weight room, meal facility or whatever.Rutgers is never going to have the biggest stadium in its new conference, or the most tradition, or the highest profile head coach. Why can't it have a better weight room to compete with the Big Ten powerhouses?
2.
This really is two issues. A) Our facilities need to be better than C-USA level, and B) just getting up to AAC level (Temple, UConn) isn't going to be good enough in the long run.He isn't going to sugarcoat his final assessment.
"Everybody thinks that the facility here is outstanding. I'll tell you: It's not," Ash said during a wide-ranging interview as the sun rose last Thursday. "Just look around. This is not on par with what Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State have.
"Is it on par with Boston College, Temple, Syracuse and UConn? Yeah, but we don't play those teams any more.

"That mantra is the only consistent thing that never needs to ever change for the rest of this program’s existence because that is all that matters & as long as that keeps occurring, everything will handle itself" -- Nick Anderson
things like these might be a bit of a hard sell at Rutgers considering the damning state of their athletic finances

it might sound a bit like devil's advocate-speak on this forum, but throwing money at the situation does not always immediately lead to blue skies.

Since a 1970s decision to try to compete against “big-time” programs, Rutgers athletics has needed tens of millions of dollars from the university and mandatory student fees to stay solvent.

Nothing wrong with our facilities that a fresh coat of paint wouldn't cure.RobertM320 wrote: A) Our facilities need to be better than C-USA level, and B) just getting up to AAC level (Temple, UConn) isn't going to be good enough in the long run.
