Very Well done. Great find.
Fan since 1965 and was at the 14-0 Victory over LSU. It can be done.
Very nice link.
Hearing there were 80,000 on opening day, got me wondering as to how many NFL stadiums at the time could seat 80,000.
Los Angeles - Coliseum could seat near 100k I think.
San Francisco - candlestick Park - no.
Dallas -- Cotton Bowl --I don't think so
St. Louis -- Busch Stadium --no
Minnesota -- Metropolitan Stadium -- no
Green Bay -- lambeau Field -- no
Chicago -- Soldier Field -- I don't think so
Detroit -- Tiger Stadium --no
Cleveland -- Municipal Stadium --I don't think so
Pittsburgh -- Forbes Field? -- no
Atlanta -- ???
Washington -- Griffith Stadium? - ???
Baltimore -- Municipal Stadium
Philadelphia -- Franklin Field? -- no
New York -- Yankee Stadium -- no

That and the warm weather were the initial reasons Tulane stadium was chosen to host Super Bowls. The first few were at the La Coliseum and later at the Orange Bowl Stadium in Miami. Both warm climates and large capacity stadiums.BC Wave wrote:Very nice link.

So much optimism turned into so many years of despair.
I saw the "north end zone seats" on TV the other day....they are now the south end zone seats at Independence Bowl Stadiumajcalhoun wrote:I sat in the north end zone that day. My brother had his season tickets on the 50.
Be a Hero Today.... Adopt a Shelter Pet... The Beatles once sang "Can't Buy Me Love"... I disagree, unconditional Love can be bought, for the nominal adoption fee at your local Pet Shelter !
