LSU - WNIT
i find it intresting thet Van C at LSU turned down an invite to the WNIT...Van..hate to tell ya, U were not getting an invite..and it is not yours to turn down...the NIT and WNIT are both owned by the NCAA and if I understand correctly by rule/bylaw an NCAA insitituion cannot turn down an invite to an NCAA sanction and owned event...this goes back to the days when teams would turn down the NCAA to play in the NIT held a MSG/NY..only until the mid 70's was a bylaw put into place to force it's members to play in the NCAA tournament..a lawsuit was filed by MSG/NIT against the NCAA and an agreement was reached that the NCAA would purchase and run the NIT both pre and post season events..
