Many of you are familiar with Bruce Reilly's story. By posting this I am neither advocating for or against Mr. Reilly. Nevertheless, his history is compelling: “Statistically,” Mr. Reilly states, “the safest person to let out of prison is a murderer.” Then he makes a very convincing case.

Bruce Reilly accepted a plea deal for 2nd degree murder. A judge sentenced him to 20 years in prison followed by 25 years of probation. While in prison, Bruce became interested in the legal system and aided a number of prisoners with their appeals. After his release, he applied and received admittance to Tulane Law. He has become an outspoken voice for justice reform and specifically for returning convicted felons into society's mainstream.

If you've got a few extra minutes between that second coffee and the start of your day, today's New York Times piece makes for an interesting read:

The employee over law school admissions was quietly pushed out once this originally became a big story.

I remember this story well. We couldn’t get marginal grade athletes in at the time but if you committed murder you were ok.
Be proactive, being reactive is for losers..
