Lee Harvey was a local who was born and raised in Nola, another great opportunity.
LHO could shoot from deep, far better than MD’s teams.

The Saints lost a game they should have won. The lack of a pass interference call cost them the game, no doubt. But had Sean Payton run the football, the Rams would have got the ball deep in their own territory with 40 seconds left and no timeouts, at worst, or the Saints may have run out the clock. Run the ball and the play would have never happened or mattered. Payton lost the game as much as the bad no call.

Payton called a running play and Brees called an audible and made a poor throw. But still running the ball three times wouldn't have guaranteed a victory. The Rams were stacking the line to stop the run and would have had 40 seconds to move the ball to get in FG range for a kicker who could make it from 60 yards.

Bears were clearly the NFC BEST TEAM except for having a terrible FG kicker , a problem we can well appreciate .
Gimme a break. The Bears benefitted from playing the easier schedule in football all season and probably had the worst QB in the NFC. If they were that great, they wouldn't have needed a last second FG at home to get past the 6th seed. Get the hell out of here with that thinking.

This was #1 v. #2. This was going to be a tough game. The Saints did everything they needed to do to put themselves in position to win. The pass play to Thomas had worked all season which is why Brees audibled to it. He just didn't make a good throw because it was going to be a TD. The refs stole the game without a doubt. The ref had a clear view of the play. It was one where there should have been multiple flags flying because it was so egregious. The commissioner should have used the power given to him to order a replay from that point. In it's response to one of the lawsuits filed the league admitted he didn't use that power because it would be too costly to order a replay. A real travesty.
