Incredible stat:
With #1 Florida eliminated by Arkansas last night that makes it 19 straight years the number 1 seed has gone home empty handed. (Includes Tulane in ‘05) only Miami in 1999 has won as a number one seed.

That's b/c in this sport you don't always have the best starter on the mound for every game. In the other sports you have your same starters for every game. Not the case in baseball at the most important position.

That's not 19 years in a row. It's called an upset. One in fact that was long overdue with a 16 finally beating a 1. LOL.

Well when any number 1 loses it’s called an upset. 19 straight is long overdue for a number 1 to finally win but the streak continues.

Damn, T, how is that germane to your your original post? Just because Win brought the logical response you just had to try to one-up him?

That this thread is going to turn in into another tps/ww pissing match is entirely your fault this time.

I'll see myself out now. Image

CWS tidbit
Tulane beat both of the head coaches in tonight's CWS final in its two CWS appearances. Van Horn when he was at Nebraska in '01 and Casey in '05 with OSU.

I'd almost rather not go to the CWS than to lose it like Arky did.

No doubt. Will go down as one of the most unforgettable plays in CWS history right next to Warren Morris Hr vs Miami.

UCLA losing, must have something to do with being a "directional school"
Be a Hero Today.... Adopt a Shelter Pet... The Beatles once sang "Can't Buy Me Love"... I disagree, unconditional Love can be bought, for the nominal adoption fee at your local Pet Shelter !

Mike Bianco 18 years at Ole Miss one CWS appearance in 2014. Got sent home today after being blasted 14-1 by Arkansas.
Imagine Ole Miss with all those resources having only one CWS under Bianco. Hard to believe he still has a job.

Like I've been saying there a lot more schools now with resources and they are putting a lot more into baseball. If he keeps his job it's because his AD recognizes that. Same with Mainieri. At LSU you're expected to win them. Fact is in this environment no one will ever do what Bertman did. In fact it was Bertman that showed a good baseball program can make money which brought about the change. That and all the money the P5 programs have coming in now to spend.

We’re talking from 2001 forward. Getting to the CWS is once in 18 years is pathetic. Bianco is making over $1 million a year. That Ole Miss CWS stat is the laughing stock joke around the SEC. We even sent Bianco home in our last Regional appearance a few years ago.

Remember all of Bertman’s champions were with a one game winner take all not 2 of 3. He always had one lights out pitcher.
LSU gets to host just about every year. And with
with TOPS they have a huge advantage. They use their 11.7 on the out of state talent. Mainieri is failing as well considering his advantages.

Funny stuff. However if Bianco or Mainieri was named our coach our fan base would be ecstatic. They both are in the toughest conference in the country and in what is by far the best Division in the country. All the schools there have the same resources. Silly stuff going on here.

You mean you would be ecstatic. Speak for yourself. Those two are has been’s. We need a young energetic guy that can win with little. Those two have proven they can’t with all they have at their disposal. Every SEC team just about makes the tournament and most host. They all should be in the CWS with those advantages.
