Re: YOGWF
They ran me off and I've been attending every home game since I was 3 and my dad founded the Greenbackers. The funny thing is most of the types of fans we talk about being elitist are middle class in real life with some sort of strange inferiority complex. As I stated before and I stand behind, ther...

Re: YOGWF
In my opinion YOGWF has contributed greatly to the sad state of Tulane Athletics. On that basis alone anything that is a detriment to the Tulane Athletic Department is absolutely worth discussing. A major part of being a college and professional sports fan in today's world is commenting, discussing,...

Re: Hmmm, don't we play there also?
I don't disagree with TURVS71 about the reality of the situation. I myself gave up a few years back and didn't attend a single home game for 2 years after only missing 3 in 20+ years. I'm not sure why I have gotten back into it, I think alot has to do with my ability to post on a site and not get ba...

Re: Jason Rollins
I agree, too often especially in the last year we've lost offensive talent to transfer. Winning is usually a good cure to unhappiness in the ranks. Generally speaking where you finish in recruiting as rated by publications has a direct correlation to where you finish in the standings. Scelfo's highl...

This guy is recruiting his a## off. Here is one way we could fix this program for alot less than $60 million. Give this guy a $100K per year raise tomorrow and an Asst. Head Coach/Recruiting Coordinator title. Ok $59,900,000 left to spend and we've already raised our recruiting from 12th to around 6...

Re: Hmmm, don't we play there also?
The majority of LSU tailgating which is widely known as a TOP 10 college football atmosphere is done on concrete parking lots next to concrete buildings. Saints tailgating is probably top 5 in the NFL if not top 2 behind Green Bay. I mean no disrespect here, but your emotions are completely misdirec...

Re: Hmmm, don't we play there also?
Regardless, we draw 3,000 per game and lose 80% of the time. We don't deserve to be cared about. Why would the Superdome care about us when our own President doesn't care about us?

Re: Just a Tidbit..
LSU will never do that. A 3 game series at Zephyr every year with a 50/50 split would be the best idea, but they wouldn't do that either.

Re: Some small-size on-campus stadium
To simply stop complaining would be to become YOGWF. I'm going to complain until I'm blue in the face or until I decide to give up on Tulane. You have to turn up the heat on these people. Tell me if I'm wrong, but what I get from your posts is that there is no use worrying about something that isn't...

Re: Some small-size on-campus stadium
TURVS71, I think we agree here, but what I'm saying is that the program IS riding off into the sunset. I understand the desire to support Tulane even though you don't want to support Cowen and crew, but unless something drastic happens I just don't think there will be an athletic program of a Divisi...

Re: Some small-size on-campus stadium
So what exactly are you saying is not possible? TCU just beat Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl. SMU went to the CUSA championship. Stanford beat Va.Tech 40-12 in the Orange Bowl. TCU is in the Big East. Boise St. has been to 2 BCS bowls. Cincinnati has been 2 the Orange Bowl and the Sugar Bowl. Utah beat ...

Re: Some small-size on-campus stadium
In my opinion there's no way they can find parking for anything above 30,000 and quite frankly I think that's improbable. Has anyone tried to park around Tulane lately? I haven't in a few years and I had to go there 3 times this week and quite frankly there is no parking, they ticket everyone, they ...

Re: Some small-size on-campus stadium
There's no reason to start putting numbers on Hyatt rooms and all that. The simple fact is a Tulane program that drew 35-40 per game with a 45K for USM and 55-60K for an Ole Miss or a Miss St. or a Ga. Tech or whoever would be very beneficial for downtown New Orleans. However, nobody is going to rea...

Re: Some small-size on-campus stadium
Somebody that would care about a successful Tulane program is Tom Benson and family. They bought the old New Orleans Centre and are in the midst of attempting to turn it into a sports themed complex with restaurants and bars and retail on the bottom and government offices up top. I'm sure 7 Saturday...

Re: "IT'S COMING"
Totally agree, Cowen and Dickson don't have a clue as to the importance of a football program in the South. They fail to understand that kids literally make decisions on where to attend schools based around that schools football program and that a good football program down here boosts your notoriet...

Re: "IT'S COMING"
LSU's applications rose drastically after Nick Saban took the helm, specifically after the 1st Sugar Bowl appearance. I know because I was there when LSU blew up. It allowed them to be more selective in who they accepted into the school and as a result the avg. ACT score rose from around a 22 to a 2...

Re: Some small-size on-campus stadium
If the University isnt going to relax admission standards and create a friendlier academic environment for football players, coupled with drastically raising coaches salaries then none of this matters anyway. Wouldn't the intelligent and logical way of handling this situation be to spend a whole lot...

Re: "IT'S COMING"
Not caring about Tulane. Meanwhile LSU has a 95,000 capacity with suites and a waiting list that takes years of donating to move up on. Last time I checked Tulane was considered pretty poor for a Division 1 Private School. i.e. Rice, Duke, Stanford, Vanderbilt, etc. I grew up hearing all the general...
