Re: Nicholls St. Game Thread

Our hitters need to step out between pitches and occasionally ask for time before he gets into his windup/delivery. Upset this pitcher’s rhythm. He’s in a groove and his timing is part of it.

Re: QB Ty Thompson

BTW: Many of us saw the interview of Sumrall discussing the QB's on the roster. He said we CAN WIN a lot of games with Kai Horton at Quarterback. He also said we can win a lot of games with Ty Thompson at Quarterback. That's a little different that Newman quoting him as saying we WILL win a lot of g...

Re: Going to be a long spring and summer for AD Harris

Newman, everything you just posted in the last post of yours is about scheduling football games. Not only is it information known already by all, but it’s totally irrelevant to the conversation about basketball games starting times. You’ve admitted the University, working in conjunction with ESPN an...

Higher font is when I have to yell over people spreading misinformation or if a message has to be repeated because they keep bringing something up that has been proven false. Re: ECU Crushes Hunter 81-67

Bringing this post from the Northwestern (baseball) thread where it was stated the Hunter was a "PC Hire". In response to that I write: Sorry, Golfnut, I don't understand how you can call Hunter a "PC Hire"? Keeping him may be politically motivated, but hiring him was not. He was...

Re: ECU Crushes Hunter 81-67

I would not be at all surprised to see Hunter do well in the portal again this off season. Mark my words, we will hear that the 24-25 team is the most talented team he's ever had, and we will be calling for his job by the end of January once again.

I enjoy listening to our announcers. Was that Don Crockett with Ron Swaboda? He had a great diss at Ron during the conference on the mound. "I think the Mets put you in the outfield to keep you out of these mound conferences with everything you have to say." Nice win for the Wave. Roll Wa...

Re: QB Ty Thompson

Newman, NOBODY doubts that Sumrall will do a deep evaluation and pick the best QB that gives us the best chance to win every week. Nobody has anointed either one the starter. But to compare pedigree, you're going to get arguments. Find another angle. We've seen Kai's HS BS a few dozen more times tha...

I'm fine with it in the NFL. But totally unnecessary in college. The game isn't broken without it, why try to fix it?

Re: SMU Game Thread

Poor coaching No adjustments No rebounding Ron playbook is a sticky note Lack of talent No interior threat Inconsistent shooting All sadly true but doubt there will be any change by AD Harris. He won 20 games a year ago, has over 500 career victories and took over a team that went 0-18 in conferenc...

Re: 2024 Baseball Season

Just saw a well produced highlight of the 2023 Championship game shown during halftime on ESPN+. Very cool that the players got smaller versions of the AAC Championship trophy.. Maybe they believe in themselves as a result of that great weekend. Who knows? It’s a reason for optimism.

Re: Tulane’s hiring of Sumrall graded A+ the highest in all of CFB

The equivalent of if we had hired Lindy Infante in 1980 or Richard Rodriguez in 1998. Sumrall is a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ hire. Willie who? The Sumrall hire further solidifies our rising status and tells college football unlike for 1980 or 1998, this time we are serious. I could not agree more. It was the righ...

Re: AAC #7

I may be wrong, but I really cannot see excitement generated for UTSA, it's a "directional school" as some posters term them. A hell of a lot more of a "directional school" than UCLA. And that won't change in my lifetime, regardless of their success on the gridiron. I just don't ...

Re: AAC #7

The AAC will eventually bubble back up to the clear G5 leader. The reason is money. So long as the AAC is making considerably more TV money than the others, they will be able to hire better coaches, have higher recruiting budgets and get better TV access. It's the reason we were able to hire Sumral...

I thought he was talking about basketball once I learned he meant MWC and SBC, the standard abbreviations for those two conferences as the AAC is for ours.
