Re: Does anybody know if . . . .

The smart move, is actually going independent.

I bet that's where everyone will want to be in 5-10 years.

Re: pete Finney

I like to think Tulane fans are better than the typical internet keyboard trolldom. I guess I just don't get the reason of leaving one bored so you can speak of Tulane athletics freely only to get to the new one and spend half your post bitching about the old forum. Seems like energy would be bette...

Yep. It's amazing what a few butts in the seats will do for atmosphere.
Riiiiiight. $80M can build an average stadium or it can make Tulane football into a powerhouse in the Dome.

Re: Some Things Never Change

Where should we start? It's good we have a message board to vent, but how do we get Gibson Hall's attention? Petitions? A peaceful demonstration? I'd drive down from Alexandria for it. It would be a start; anything to get this particular point of view in and on the news where it must be acknowledge...

Re: Well, let's see how this works out.

It's not optimistic to just hope something happens when all signs point in a different direction and nothing is being done to obtain these optimistic goals. I find this board more optimistic because there are people here who actually believe Tulane can and should have a top 20 football program year...

Re: Vision lacking from the Administration(Multi-use Stadium

Any Tulane fan who shows any support for Scott Cowen whatsoever supports the end of the football program whether they realize it or not. He should've been run out of town in 2003. Exactly. Cowen is a disingenuous liar. Otherwise, at best, he's just a misguided dumba$$. Either way, he's doing tremen...

Re: Vision lacking from the Administration(Multi-use Stadium

I wouldn't be that harsh with Cowan. I would. What exactly has he done that should insulate him from harsh, and I mean harsh, criticism? As the President of the University he needs to evaluate athletics and remain objective about it's role and importance to the school. Indeed. And his "evaluat...

Re: Vision lacking from the Administration(Multi-use Stadium

Just reading the various suggestions on this thread underscores how completely devoid the Cowen administration is of anything close to strategic thinking. I don't think the Cowenistas have any idea what they are going to do next week--much less how to optimize the layout of our "land scarce&qu...

Re: TAF Donations Down

No head coach, worth a hoot, would want to come to Tulane as long as Cowen is here. The word is quickly spreading on just how incompetent and bad this guy is. This is doubly true for Rodriguez, given the prime time bend over that he got from Cowen back in 1998. Tulane is not going to advance on any...

Re: TAF Donations Down

Go from head coach at Michigan to an assistant for Bob Toledo at a school whose administration is ashamed to have a D1A football program? Never in a million years. Even if it were the head coaching job it would never happen. Hiring him as HC would be a de facto admission by Cowen that he screwed up...

Re: TAF Donations Down

From a source in the Athletic dept. since the announcement keeping Toledo as coach and extending his contract a year, contributions have taken a big dip south. Until the Administration comes up with something big the fan base has been turned off further. Looks like Rich Rodriquez will be fired at M...

Also, what does it say about YOGWF that you cant say negative thing about a Tulane coach during the season, but as soon as someone transfers because said coach is doing a horrendous job you can bash the living sh*t out of the kid and talk about how he wasn't any good to start with. I never did quit...

would be nice prior to 2011, but you are talking about Cowen & Dickson, the two least innovative people that Tulane has. They want to keep their small TU kingdom even smaller, because they can control it better (for themselves). We would all like to see significant changes to the athletic dept ...

He got to where he is making stupid investments? Yahoo management decisions over the years have been pretty awful leaving the company is horrible shape. Rumor has it that David Filo, Tulane graduate and Louisiana native, and co-founder of Yahoo, may be interested in purchasing the Hornets. Great for the Hornets but wouldn't that be a slap in the face of his alma mater considering we are trying to secure financing for an on campus stadium? Now he ma...

Jonathanjoseph is trying to use the new media to apply pressure.
